Bedtimes....

mummy2girls wrote: I was wondering this because my family finds it odd how early jenna goes to bed. Jenna has been on a schedule and no matter what she wants to go to bed at 7 or 730 the latest. She gets ornery until i put hert in her crib and she sleeps till 600 on the days i work and till 800am on the weekends...She naps at 1130 till 200pm.

booey2 replied: I think that your little angel has a great schedule. My sister have 4 children. A 12 year girl, 5 year old boy, 4 year old boy and 17 month old boy. The 5 year old and 17 month old go to bed at around 7-8pm, the 12yr old and 4yr old stay up way later.

My two both go around the same time between 8-9pm. I think that their schedules reflect that of the parents. DH and I usually go to bed around 9-9:30pm so it only goes that the boys do the same.

MomToMany replied: All my kids go to bed at the same time, usually by 7:30 at the latest. My 10, 8, and 3 yr old all share one room, so it's hard to let the older kids stay up later. Hannah stays up a little later because it takes her longer to fall asleep. DH & I are sleeping by 9 or 9:30.

coasterqueen replied: Kylie just started going to bed at 8 pm instead of 10 pm about 2 months ago. But she gets up around 6 or 6:30 am, sometimes 5 am. rolleyes.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin usually goes to bed about 7:30p sometimes as late as 8:30p just depends on the night.

Sound like Jenna's got a great bedtime schedule, and it gives you your time. smile.gif I thinks its great, dont let others change it, it works for you!

maliksmommy replied: That used to be exactly what Malik's schedule was until the time change and now he goes to be about 8:30 and gets up around 7:00. The other morning he slept until 8:15 and I about freaked out when I looked at the clock, he has never slept in that late. It was wonderful!!!

mummyof2boyz replied: My kids really don't have a bedtime. Sometimes they are in bed by 9, sometimes 11:30. Then they usually wake up around 7:30 or 8.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Somewhere between 7 and 9.... depends how hard he is to put to bed.... I usually try to be sleping by 11, and DH goes to bed usually between 12 and 1. Zach waskes up around 7:30.

Schnoogly replied: Well it used to be 8:00 pretty regularly but since the time change he is very very sleepy by 7 so he is usually asleep by 7:30 now.

The no cry sleep solution says late bedtimes are a major reason why babies don't sleep as well, and that a bedtime as early as 6:30 helps them sleep better and longer. We're just too busy to get him to sleep by then, but I think if he slept from 7pm-7am straight that would just be heaven!! He wakes up at 6 on the dot, sometimes a little earlier. But almost NEVER later than that!!

aspenblue1 replied: Isabella used to go to bed around 7:30 or 8:00 since the time change she goes to bed around 6:30-7:00. I am trying to get her to stay up later.

juliajaj replied: Olivia is just like Jenna. We start her bedtime routine at 6:30 & she's in bed by 7. We put her down when she's still awake, so sometimes she plays & sings for a couple of minutes before going to bed. Most the time she's sound asleep by 7:05. She wakes up at 6, and is ready to go to daycare by 7. I think she's been on this schedule since she was 3 months old. Our ped. said that 1 year olds need a total of 13 hours a sleep/day. Olivia definitely gets this since she takes a 2 hour nap during the day & sleeps 11 hours at night. DH & I wouldn't change a thing. Olivia gets the sleep she needs & we get some couple-time.

My2Carebears replied: Abri (6)goes to bed at 8 , sometimes 7:30. She gets up at 6:30 am on weekdays and 7:30am on weekends
Angel goes to bed at 8:30-9. And gets up at 6:40 am on weekdays and 8 am on weekends. Both are usually pretty easy to got to bed.

CantWait replied: Anthony goes to bed usually around 9:30, but he still isn't very consistent with his timings.

MommyToAshley replied: Ashley goes to bed between 8:00 and 8:30. She gets up at 7:30 every morning.

I say if the earlier bedtime is working for Jenna, then don't change it! It took us some time to find the right bedtime for Ashley, but she sleeps through the night great and I wouldn't dream of changing her routine!
