Besides missing your period... - how did you know that you were pg?

CAMSMOM1 wrote: Besides missing your period and taking a pg test....did you have any other symptoms of signs that you were pregnant?

Sore breasts, moody, tired....??? Some women claim that they just "know" when they are pregnant.

Just curious.... wink.gif

huggybugboy replied: this is funny. we were trying and I was so looking forward to taking a pregnancy test that first time even though I was pretty sure I wasnt pregnant yet (first try and all). But the day before my period was due I ate a bagel with cream cheese and it made me sooo nauseated. Very out of the ordinary for me, so I took the test early and there was a very faint line. biggrin.gif

lilvixen replied: It's funny you should mention that because for months before I actually got pregnant, I was convinced we had conceived. I either felt nauseous, extremely tired, sore breasts, all the usual symptoms that convinced me I was pregnant but I really wasn't. When I took the HPT that came out positive, it was purely on a whim. I wasn't overly tired, nauseous or anything like that. My period was 2 days late (which is normal for me) so I took a test and it was immediately positive. Imagine how hard my jaw hit the floor! I was only four weeks when I found out and thought I was lucky for escaping morning sickness. Bad idea! If only I had waited two more weeks, I would have known I was pregnant for sure. Virtually the morning of the beginning of my sixth week, I woke up nauseous, overly tired and moody with breasts so sore I couldn't even lay on them. That's when I really started to 'feel' pregnant.

luvmykids replied: I'd been unbelievably tired for about a week but my period was always unpredictable so I blew it off. I just woke up one day soooo sick. When I didn't feel better the next day I got suspicious. I was so sick constantly-unfortunately, it was not just "morning" sickness. When we took the test I was totally unprepared and didn't know you couldn't get a false positive. I went back to the drugstore and bought three more!

luvmykids replied: BTW-do you think you are?

luvmykids replied: Keep us "posted" lol rolling_smile.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: With Katy I was Soooooooo Sick starting from about 2.5 weeks, I could smell anything within miles, I was moody, and if someone walked into a room it made my boobs hurt.
Matt I was tired and that's it before the test
THis time nothing just the test. I had actually been convinced it hadn't happened and we would try again this month.

djwebb replied: heart burn, sore breasts and I was hungrey all the time...this is before I even missed my period!

jcc64 replied: Very heightened sensitivity to all kinds of smells, feeling very sick and just "weird".

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Both times, before I found out I was PG, I was drinking, lol...that sounds really bad because we were TTC with Wil but I had given up at that point and it was Christmas. But somehow the alcohol just wasn't going down very well and I had a hangover from only one drink! That's how I knew. My boobs don't really get sore until many weeks into the PG and I don't really get much MS. I do smell everything, but that's normal for me! laugh.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Tired. I started sleeping in the middle of the day, and I'm usually not a napper. Also, with this one the indigetstion has been crazy, and the moodiness is what told my husband that I needed to take a test. HA! laugh.gif For some reason, when I'm PG all little things make me SOOOOO mad. smile.gif lol

CosmetologyMommy replied: I never missed my period I was just sooo tired and I am usually full of energy and able to get by on not alot of sleep.

PrairieMom replied: With #1 my boobs were so sore, but I waited until I was 3 days late before I tested. With #2 I tested so early that I didn't really have any symptoms yet. I acutually felt more Pregnant the month before when we had a "swing and a miss" rolleyes.gif

moped replied: I knew about an hour after it happened, my boobs tingled and I jsut knew!

scattytart replied: i was just wondering are you expecting biggrin.gif have you found out yet, Fingers crossed that you are! rolling_smile.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: I went to the doctor because I was SICK, they thought I had food poisoning, we had already ruled out pregnancy because doctors have been telling me since i was 15 that, pregnancy wasn't a possibility without InVitro, so the gave me some medicine and sent me about my way. On the way home, I was like, something isn't right, so I went to the Wal - Mart by our house and picked up the Equate < cheap pregnancy test, and went home. VERY nervously took it and awaited the results, about 1 minute after taking it ... the line appeared. So I went back to the doctor the following day, and through them for a loop, seeing as they were all positive it couldn't happen! They thought I was further along because of the MORNING sickness, but turns out, I have really high hormone levels, which has tipped them off into thinking, TWINS. .. Has anyone else had the high hormone levels and exaggerated symptoms ...?

Jess

amymom replied: Sinus Infections ... believe it or not. My periods were always irrecgular. So I never knew when I was late or not. All 4 pregnancies I got a sinus infection first, then noticed that I hadn't had a visit from Aunt Flo in a while and took a test. Except for one pregnancy, I had a sinus infection but went for a routine Gyn appt and they tested since I hadn't had Aunt Flo for 6 months and I was pg.

kit_kats_mom replied: My cycles are way irregular so a missed period never really was my first sign.
With K, I had been charting and the software I was using said "you may be pregnant, test today" so I did.
With Lauren, I had only had 3 cycles since K was still a voracious nurser. I was laying in bed one night and had a white flash in my head. It was wierd. Thought I was having a stroke or something. The next day, I was driving past a drugstore and thought "I should probably pick up some folic acid". Then I thought, "what the heck did I just think that for? Am I nuts?"

A few days later I was nursing K and posting to this board when it suddenly occured to me that I hadn't had AF in awhile. Checked my calendar and it had been 45 days. Not so wierd for me though. especially since my cycles were just starting back up. Anyway, I tested and it was positive. My little suprise. LOL

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I just knew with the both of them. I think I was in denial with Jade because we had lost two before that and I didn't want to get excited about it. With Jordan I remember going to the base fair and thinking maybe I shouldn't get on the rides. That was about 3 days before my 30th birthday. The day after I turned 30 I tested and sure enough I was pg.

My3LilMonkeys replied: My DH told me. emlaugh.gif No, really! With both girls, around the time AF was due he told me that I was PG and to take a test. And the one time that AF was 10 days late and I was convinced I was PG he told me I wasn't - and he was right.

PhiMuMommy replied: my boobs started growing.. they itched and hurt so bad i couldn't wear a bra..and i was passing out for no reason constantly.. tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied: sore and bigger breasts, dark areola, using the bathroom alot, VERY tired, all the classic symtoms (before pg test) except morning sickness

CantWait replied: ohmy.gif Tomorrow, why not tonight rolling_smile.gif Best wishes.

With me, #1 I missed my period and my mom basically told me I was pregnant, so I went and got a test done and sure enough, I was.]

#2, I just knew...so I did a home pregnancy test and it was positive.

MichaelsMommy replied: My boobs were very sore and I 'just knew' don't know how to explain it...
I tested a week before af was due and got a second line. When I went
for my blood test to confirm they were really shocked that I was in so
early - telling me I was 'just barely' pregnant lol

Heather replied: With this pregnancy it was definitely the hormones. I was soo mean and nasty in the beginning. HORRIBLE. I knew something was up. My period was funky the month before so I wasn't sure when my period was due. So that was the only thing that tipped me off...

ilovemybaby replied: I had implantation bleeding and tender breasts. As well as being a bit moody and tired.

TeagansMom609 replied: I didnt have any symptoms at all with either pregnancy. I was just late with AF, but didnt feel pregnant at all. I was suprised both times when the test came up positve because I didnt feel pregnant what so ever. Weeks later when the morning sickness kicked in is when I felt it.

luvmykids replied: Just the morning sickness. I've never had a very regular cycle so it wasn't weird to me to be late or miss one here and there. Just the sickness.
