Bindi

Nina J wrote: Do you like the name Bindi? Just wondering happy.gif Everytime I hear the name I like it more and more, I've never heard of anyone besides little Bindi Irwin with the name.

sparkys2boys replied: I voted no, but have not ever really heard this much, it may take some getting used to!

kristy-n-chad replied: I think is really cute!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I voted maybe in that it totally suits Bindi Irwin, but I don't think I'd ever use it for on of my children.

CantWait replied: Nope. I think that would be a hard name to grow up with.

3xsthefun replied: No. I don't really care for the name.

mckayleesmom replied: I don't like it...sorry.....My mom had a friend that lived 2 doors down from us when I was growing up. Her name was Bindi and she has Polio (sp?). My mom ended her friendship with her because she started getting into drugs....Her kids were like part of our family and they would always be at our house and my mom took care of them even though she cut off contact with their mom. She died a couple years ago.

Anyways....I associate names with people I didn't like or things they did....Whenever I hear the name Bindi....it reminds me of a drug addict.

MotherForever2043 replied: No, not really. I would not want to grow up with the name Bindi.

Jamison'smama replied: For Bindi Irwin, yes, it suits her. She is adorable.

MoonMama replied: I voted yes...I have to admit the more I hear it the more I love it! I really think it fits her well, she is such a doll and so well spoken. thumb.gif

skinkybaby replied: I put Maybe. Its not something I would name my kid, but it fits Bindi Irwin to a T and its a little better than some of the other wacky names people are naming their kids these days...

Crystalina replied: Bindi means little female. Steve had a huge crock named Bindi and when Bindi was born he said she looked like a little Bindi which is how she got the name. Her name is Bindi Sue and the Sue came from Steves dog. happy.gif We named Izabella after our dog also. rolling_smile.gif I'm sure most already know the story of Bindi's name but just for anyone who didn't...

I love the name Bindi. I've loved it from the first time I heard it. I would use it in a second if I ever went insane and decided to have another. People are associating the name with Bindi Irwin but if you were to use it it would become your daughters. kwim? I love exotic names for girls. Boys seem to be so generic. emlaugh.gif There aren't too many exotic choices for boys.

I didn't vote but if I were to vote I would say yes.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I was reading a book called Freakonomics. There is a chapter in there on statistics of names in the US. It said that people are something like 3-4 times more likely to use an unusual name for a girl as they are for a boy.

A&A'smommy replied: I would never name my child bindi BUT I think its absolulty adorable!! wub.gif

JadensMama05 replied: I voted yes. Everytime I hear it (or think it rolling_smile.gif ), I like it more. Who is Bindi Irwin? Is that Steve Irwin's daughter? That's the only famous Irwin I can think of...

Nina J replied: we're going with Bindi Autumn. It reminds me of when we agreed on Odessa's name, we'd gone through alot of names but we both knew when we found the right one. If it's a boy, we'll name him Ciaran. We've both loved that name since before Odessa was born. We're just waiting until the next ultra sound to get a definate answer about the sex.

redplaydoh replied: I just can't help thinking of the exotic dancer I'd heard about one time that used that name because she was "Bendy" as in flexible. I'd hate to have someone reference that to my child as some point in life.

I think the name is a cute name though, but not one I'd want as a professional adult.

Crystalina replied: I think you made a good choice. I've loved it and thought it unusual since I first heard it. There are so many peculiar names out there anymore that your childs peers will think nothing of it.

I'm worried about your son's name though...how do you say that one? rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif I'm sure it's a lovely name. hug.gif

HuskerMom replied: I think it's a really cute name but I'd never name my kid that smile.gif

NikkiM replied:
I agree.
