Biopsy results are in...
MommyToAshley wrote: I had two different types of biopsies done...
A core needle biopsy (guided by U/S) to look at a cyst in one area and a hypoechoic area in another location.
I also had a stereotactic biopsy (computer guided using a mammogram) to look at some microcalcifications in yet another area.
The results were BENIGN for all! I am so relieved, I was trying to stay optimistic but became worried when the procedure became more complicated and they went from doing one incision to doing three incisions. Thank you all for your prayers and positive thoughts, and for being there for me.
As for the results, one area is a fibrocystic growth and the other is a fibroadenoma. My doc briefly described these conditions on the phone, but they are both benign conditions.
I probably won't be around much as I am still pretty sore. Even though I kept ice on the area for the entire first day, I still have bruising about the size of a football.... it even hurts to type. They said it bruised so badly because of the location of where the samples were taken... lucky me. But, considering the results, I am not complaining about the bruising at all.
Thanks again.
