Birth Control Method - What do you guys use????

Does anyone else have an IUD? Have you had any problems?

I have to be very carefull for the next 18 months or so because they will kick me out of my schooling or postpone it if I gt pregnant. Anyone have advice besides completely forgetting about sex all together

coasterqueen replied: I used the regular birth control pill Ortho Novum (sp?) before Kylie. For a bit while nursing Kylie I took the mini-pill. It was a pain in the bum so we just used condoms knowing that we'd eventually ttc again.

I don't know much about the IUD, sorry. Hopefully someone here has used it and can give you more info on it.

DansMom replied: I've always used a diaphragm with spermicide. No pills to take, no hormone changes, and it's 96% effective (something like that) if used properly. It cuts down slightly on the spontaneity factor, but spontaneity went out the window with baby #1 anyway.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I don't take anything. DH will get snipped soon. I can't take BCP b/c of the hormones. I may try the diaphragm since DH won't do condoms.

kimberley replied: i was on the depo shot and had no problems with it. actually, the pharmacist told me it has the lowest dose of hormones of bc since i was worried cuz i was nursing Jade. i liked that i only had to worry about it 4 times a year and AF is a thing of the past

aspenblue1 replied: We use condoms. I can not take BC. I do know 1 person that had issues with an IUD ad had to have it taken out.

maestra replied: I had the mirena IUD and loved it! I only got a period every other month, and it was more like a little spotting and that's it. I had it taken out so I could get preg.

mommy2mylittleangels replied: i have the iud and i love it no problems with it so far and my doc reccomended due to the fact that the pill does not work for me. I love it no scares or even worries about being pregnant!!! You will not have that time of the month after about 3-4 months and it lasts for 5 years...I haven't tried anything else but the pill and this and like i said I LOVE IT!!!!

MomToMany replied: Sorry I'm no help. I'm not using anything right now, but we don't have "intimacy" very often, maybe every 2 months or so??? I haven't had a period yet since Kayla was born .

Boys r us replied: Most of the time we don't use anything. I'll get a scare and make him use a condom every once in awhile. But I know when I'm ovulating and we're always "careful" anyhow!
I'm not ready to have another baby right now, but it would be a welcomed suprise if we did get pregnant, so..it's really not a big risk for us at this time.
Once we have one more, I'll get my tubes tied or Dh will get snipped, not sure which!

My2Beauties replied: Right now I'm on the BC pill but with my busy schedule it's hard for me to remember to take it all the time SO.....I'm thinking about doing the depo shot but was wondergina bout the side affects from it. You reminded to post a topic on this....THANKS!!!

Eventually I think DF wants to get snipped because I refuse to get my tubes tied after what that procedure has done to my mom's AF's..they are horrible!

A&A'smommy replied: I would get the depo shot but I am scared of it.... I really should give it a try but I really am scared of it.... I forgot to take my pills for like three days one time and that was around a day that he well you know FREAKED me out! Good luck with what you choose!

booey2 replied: Since shortly after I met my DH I had to stop taking the pill and we started using condoms and have not stopped in over 15 years of being together - other than when we wanted to start a family. Once we decide that we are completely, 100% sure that we are finished have children DH will go and get snipped - then no more wrappers - YEAH!!

Josie83 replied: I'm on the Pill, I don't know why but just really hate condoms! It works okay but obviously you get the odd scare. Whatever works for you! xx

3xsthefun replied: I'm on the patch. I like it pretty well. But I have had a scare or two being on it. I have also heard that you can get pregnant easier while taking the patch. Example: If you forget to change your patch for a week you can get pregnant.

I'm not sure if I would really recommend going on it. Though it has been working for me. I have been on it since January.
