Bradley Method - anyone?

Mommy2Isabella wrote: Did anyone use the Bradley Method of childbirth, also known as Husband Coached - Childbirth??

We are going to take the classes and I was just wondering if you took the classes did you indeed deliver naturally? < was the class effective?

How much did you pay for your class?

any other helpful tid bits !!

moped replied: good freind of mine did and she had a great experience! That is about all I know - she delivered very naturally and had all good things to say

mummy2girls replied: no.. but i think marcus would be keen on this idea. but me with the epidural man.. i dont know if i can handle that one...LOL..

Cece00 replied: Nope.

We didnt take any child birth classes.

I could not be paid enough to have a natural delivery (at least with my first- the only one I did labor with....repeat csections for the other 3) so it didnt benefit me to take childbirth classes.

grapfruit replied: What's the bradley method??

moped replied: http://www.bradleybirth.com/FAQs.aspx

natersmommy replied: i didn't go to any classes and my husband was the one that helped me through it...he even held my leg up for me... i think my labor would have gone by allot slower if he wasn't the one helping me relax... he whispered stories in my ear about us walking on the beach- it was amazing...i tried to imagine what he was saying and it really helped!!!!!!!!!!! i started pushing at noon and had her at 12:05- only five minutes of pushing!!

grapfruit replied:
That helps! Thanks smile.gif

moped replied:
Drug Free?

natersmommy replied: oh and we had discussed what pain methods i would use- i had really bad back labor so i sat in a shower while i had my contractions- i recommend this to you- it was the BEST shower of my life!!!!!!!! i did it all natural- the contractions hurt way worse then pushing.... good luck to you!

moped replied:

I think that is great!

I, on the other hand could not have done it and had an epidural and loved every second!

natersmommy replied: i had contractions every five minutes apart for over 13 hours so i had no sleep for like 32 hours so they gave me 1/5 dose of morphine so i could sleep in between the contractions but the drug wore off in less then 2 hours (the nurses were afraid i was going to be to tired to push-lol) boy were they wrong!!!!!!!!!!

moped replied: I started at 2 min apart and got progressively worse - wasn't liking the thought of it getting worse! tongue.gif

natersmommy replied: i know- mine got 2 min. apart about an hour before i had her- my doctor wasen't in the building- the nurse told me stop pushing- try to wait for the doc..... she made it right when Natalyn's head was coming out!!!!!
