Bridesmaid dress for Feb wedding? - need suggestions!
amynicole21 wrote: My sister is getting married in Philly this February ( ) and I am the only attendant in the wedding. Therefore, I get to choose whatever I want to wear What kind of formal dress would you wear in the middle of the coldest month in PA? Not long-sleeved, right? Maybe spaghetti straps with a shawl or wrap or something?
ammommy replied: Ohh, I saw a really pretty one recently. It had straps and came with a velvet bolero jacket. It was by Jessica McClintock. After Megan's doc appointment, I can see if I can find the pic if you want.
amynicole21 replied: I've seen some like this! Good suggestion
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I think you can wear long sleeves if you like too. I've seen two piece sets where it's a cashmere cardigan or just plain, but elegant sweater on top with a billowy silk skirt (a long one) on the bottom. Or even a silk pant suit if your sister would allow that. Get something you would wear again.
I have a brown bridesmaid dress if you want it!! I don't think I'll be wearing this one again.
amynicole21 replied: Oooh, that's very pretty Rae! Sadly I'm about twice your size
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I have a few bridesmaids dresses that I do not need anymore and they all have shaws. If you want I can take pics of them this weekend and if you want one I will let you have it!!!
coasterqueen replied: Amy,
I have a pine green bridesmaid dress I wore in a wedding last September that is spaghetti strap and has a shawl. I can't remember the size of it but I had to get it much bigger since I was pg and big chested. If you might be interested I can find out the size and send you a pic . I'm not actually sure the exact green color, pine, hunter one of those.
six_kids_at_28 replied: Being a true PA at heart..I know that feeling lol
amymom replied: Something red or deep maroon and velvet. So sexy and nice. Valentine's and all.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I have a real pretty deep red bridesmaid dress. It was very expensive and great material. (it is almost black) Kind of like the black magic roses that look black in certain light.
I think it is a 10 if you want it.
Warbride replied: When I got married Feb. of '03, my sissy wore a knee-length blue dress. It didn't have spaghetti straps, but it was sleeveless. I think she practically froze when we went outside! I would definately suggest something you could wear a nice coat or a wrap with. And longer is better!
amynicole21 replied: Oh bless you that you think I'm a size 10! Thanks though.
mckayleesmom replied: How about this one....??

There are 3 pages of dresses here - all so very nice!
MommyToAshley replied: I think that time of year, a deep burgandy in velvet would be so pretty. Or even a deep royal blue. If you try any on, take a camera, I want to see pics. I bet you will look beautiful in anything though.
chloe&tysmommy replied: I agree!!!
I'm not good with fashion stuff but you got a lot of great advice from everyone here
I hope you find a dress you like and remember to take lots of pics
MyLuvBugs replied: Definately a long skirt, but the top part I'd pick a dress that's neckline looks good on me. I personally look good in off the shoulder v-necks. Some look good in spagetti straps, but not sure if that'd be the best for a winter wedding???
wahm05 replied: I like the jacket idea, you could take it off inside but wear it for pictures and even the reception if you want. That way you could also do spaghetti straps or strapless but not freeze your patootie off.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I have a size 14 periwinkle dress leftover from my own wedding... my SIL backed out of our bridal party... (yay!! ) so I have it left over. It's never been worn.
It's spaghetti straps and backless though...
