By far the worst mom - today...that's me!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: I am so embarassed to even tell you all this...but here goes. I just got back from taking the kids to McDonalds. They have an indoor play area, so I let Wil run free for about 25 minutes or so and then we took our lunch to go. As he was playing, I kept hearing kids yell out "Ewww, a diaper!" I immediately thought of Wil, but knew that he was wearing overalls...He can't get into his diaper in overalls. Now this is one of those play things with lots of tunnels, so its hard to see your kid at all times. I see Wil come down the slide...all clothes on, so phewww, not my kid. So we get in the car, drive home and I just got him upstairs in bed for a nap. I open his overalls to change his diaper...and low and behold, NO DIAPER! Completely naked! blush.gif growl.gif ohmy.gif He kept grabbing his crotch at the play area, but I thought he just had to use the potty. Now I know why! So I say "where's your diaper Wil?" and he just gives me that cute smirk and laughs. rolleyes.gif

OMG, what do I do???...Should I call McDonald's right now and fess up? The person who cleans the play area overheard the kids and kept checking things out, but I don't think she ever saw the diaper, nor did I. Should I assume they will find it? Aghhhhhhh, I'm so humiliated. I kept thinking oh how gross and that's actually why I took Wil home early, thinking I didn't want him playing around a dirty diaper. Never knowing it was my own kid's. sleep.gif blush.gif huh.gif bawling.gif Ughhhhh.

CantWait replied: hug.gif hug.gif rolling_smile.gif Well if they check it like they should, they should be able to find it, but if you feel that bad, give them an annonymous phone call and let them know. It's really not that bad. hug.gif

msoulz replied: Sorry, but as it wasn't my kid and I wasn't there, I LOL at this!

I see no point at confessing. Next time just apply a little duct tape and all will be well!! rolling_smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: mary, are you related to my husband? you cant use duct tape for EVERYTHING! rolling_smile.gif

I think I would confess, but not give my name. only because if your child were playing in the tunnel and came out with someone elses diaper you would be upset, and it is a health hazzard. I mean only because like you said its hard to see all aspects of the play areas, so she might not see it right away, and how many little ones might put their hands on it before its found and then go eat?
just my opinion.
but i have been there with you on that one! and that doesnt make you a bad mom at all! hug.gif

moped replied: Well S&%T Happens right! tongue.gif

I wouldn't bother - they will find it and likely already have and have it all claened up!

I have never taken Jack to the play area or anything because I think they are jsut full of germs etc - I nearly died when my freind made me take him to Chuck E Cheese - ewwwwwwwww

hoosier momma replied: You are not a bad mom at all. I think I would just make an anonymous call to the McDonald's and let them know to check the tunnels.

luvbug00 replied: emlaugh.gif i'd leave it be

lovemy2 replied: I know it isn't funny Rae and I can feel your pain but LOL rolling_smile.gif How on earth did he get it off without taken off his overalls or unbuttoning them or something rolling_smile.gif

Make a call - I would use your name but be honest...they aren't going to know who you are next time you go in - of course I may go to a different one next time rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied: You're not a bad mom at all, you just have a sneaky little guy tongue.gif

I would be mortified/mad too, but really, I'm sure he's not the first to have left his diaper at the top of the slide hug.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Rae, my sister's been having to use a bit of duct tape on Kenna's diaper for the past week or so. Poor kid, she keeps trying to get it off and saying, "sticker off". I wouldn't laugh if it was Logan, but I think it's hysterical. How on earth did Wil manage that? You might have the next Criss Angel on your hands.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Well I'm glad some of you could laugh...Because I certainly had a hard time keeping a straight face when I unbuttoned his overalls to find a bare you know what! ohmy.gif I kept thinking, did I forget to diaper him this morning??? I'm actually impressed that he was able to hold it not only in the play area, but in the car on the way home. ohmy.gif

I called DH to get his opinion and he said what some of you said, that they have probably found it by now, don't bother. So I didn't. blush.gif

Oh Jen, we go to CEC sometimes too! blush.gif Living in Colorado, the weather is so unpredictable that sometimes I'm just desperate to get outside, just not necessarily OUTside in the cold. I used to be all concerned about the germs, but I looked at this way, its not different than going to the grocery store and putting your kid in a cart.

moped replied:
True

I am certain Wil is not the only child to have done this!!!!!!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Yeah probably not. I should have had a clue when he kept grabbing his crotch! I bet the snaps of the overalls were scratching him... laugh.gif

luvmykids replied:
Maybe he's closer to PT than you thought, that could be a plus! laugh.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: OMG! I would have died, but I am totally laughing right now! emlaugh.gif Holy smokes. This will be a really good story to tell his prospective girlfriends when he is older!!! wink.gif laugh.gif What comes around goes around buddy!

Kaitlin'smom replied: okay I can laugh at finding no diper on him, but not at where he took it off at.....ewwww just one more reason I wont take Kait to play at McD's or any other play area like that, gross gross, gross.
