CROCS - What do you think of them?
MotherForever2043 wrote: They are EVERYWHERE I go I bought a pink pair for Amber, and she never wants to take them off her feet. She says that are to comfortable to take off I personally, don't think much of them. What about you guys?
moped replied: I like them for kids, but not so muchf or adults.....I do like the flip flops a lot and I own a pair but not the big klunky ones........ Jack has balck ones, but he says they are too sweaty.......
PrairieMom replied: I think they are hideous. I have no idea why anyone outside the health care field would wear them. I have a pair I wear at work, they are super comfortable, but I would never ever ever wear them with anything but scrubs. (sorry to those that love them)
moped replied: My freind is an xray tech and says the same thing - onyl wear them to a hospital!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm like Jen...LOVE them for kids, don't like them on adults. But I have to say, a friend who's husband is a chiropractor says they really aren't great support for kids' growing feet. Probably fine to wear to the pool, but not for a lot of walking or out on the playground. I buy the cheap version (Payless) for Wil. I threw them out after my friend told me this because I started seeing Wil's feet turn in funny and he gets blisters from them. I have awful bunion feet because of wearing bad shoes all my life, so I'm hoping to do better for my kids. They are really EASY though, so I will miss that. Maybe the real Crocs are better.
moped replied: I have a black pair in size 7/8 I think if anyone is interested! Just PM me! For toddlers boys I mean, not adults
Danalana replied: Oh man....I hate them! I saw a woman and her son in the vision center today. He must have been 8 or something. he was wearing denim shorts and lime green crocs w/ ankle socks! I couldn't believe my eyes...I don't like them for kids, except really little ones.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hate them hate them hate them. I almost hate them as much as I hate the shoes with wheels under them.
Although - I saw theo ther day, a grown adult wearing a pair that were mde like sandals, with open toes. They didn't look as dumb.
Jamison'smama replied: Both of my kids have them and we love them. They are great to wear when there is a chance of their feet getting wet. Jamison loves to collect the charms for them.
Anthony275 replied: i dont understand how people could wear crocs at a hospital - there are holes in the shoes, if you spill any liquid and it gets on your foot, that's a hazard
well i dont like them, but me an dmy friends make fun of them so much both my neighbors got crocs- well one is a knockoff of them
My3LilMonkeys replied: Ugly Ugly Ugly - I think they are hideous!!!
Calimama replied: IMO they are so ugly!! We don't own any.
Kentuckychick replied: I think they're kinda cute on little kids, but otherwise I'm not a fan. I on the other hand own at least 15 pair of old navy flip flops (enough to match about every outfit I own) I mean hey they come in black and brown too! So I'm not sure I can talk
But I will say this... my 15 pair of old navy flip flops probably cost me as much as 2 pair of Crocs... so
luvmykids replied: I've heard they are....there was a huge article on MSN about them and people who hated them tried them on for "research" and said it was like walking on clouds and marshmallows
None of us have any, I agree they're darling on kids though.
PrairieMom replied: They have them with no holes too. Mine do, but they haven't been banned at my hospital. YET.
Anthony275 replied: yeah but the ones with no holes, aren't they hard to find, and aren't they're knockoffs?
PrairieMom replied: no. I have seen actual crock brand no hole ones.
Crystalina replied: Maybe for the kids (although I've heard that they are not safe for various reasons) but for adults... they are so clumpy looking. They would be good for mucking out a stall but there are too many holes in them.
msoulz replied: While I agree that they won't win any fashion awards, they are very comfortable and easy to clean.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I love my crocs. Owned them for years and though I will gladly admit they are ugly as sin they are like walking on clouds and marshmallows
Insanemomof3 replied: Ok I am out of the loop...what are they?
Cece00 replied: My daughter has a pair in light pink. I think they look bad on boys and adults...I've heard they are very comfortable but I just cant bring myself to buy them b/c I hate the way they look, except on my daughter.
lovemy2 replied: I have them and Olivia has them - we paid a whopping $6 a pair for them at the public market - but we don't wear them out in public (well Olivia does from time to time not when we are walking alot or anything but to run to the store quick or something - hers are cute - hot pink with charms on them;) I just use them when we are bumming around the house or yard - they are cute on kids and pretty ugly on adults but they are easy to slip on and off and they are like walking on clouds and marshmallows -
Maddie&EthansMom replied: My kids have them and I think they are cute on them. Maddie also has Heeley's that she got for her birthday. I would love some Heeley's of my own actually. Those things are FUN!!!
luvmykids replied: I think I remember reading that the real crocs are made of material that is bacteria resistant and anti-microbial. I tried on a pair of the knock offs and they were not comfy but I can see how the real ones would be. Supposed to be practically indestructible too.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Not only that, but you can boil them and eat them too. They ARE edible.
gr33n3y3z replied: I see a lot of ppl. wearing them at the beach and in the water<---
Crystalina replied: Ok, Your gonna have to give us more then that. WTH?
Chase-N-Paige replied: Both of my kids have them also. My daughter loves them and says they are the most comfortable shoes she has. She also loves to collect the cute charms.
Danalana replied: I don't think i would like to boil them and eat them....but maybe batter and fry them!
PrairieMom replied: I looked everywhere online and never found a site that actually can prove that. Its gotta be a urban legend. I think it started because they are made out of natural products? Maybe Myth Busters should do a show about it.
Crystalina replied: I watched Survivorman one night and found that you can eat your leather gloves...if you had to.
Calimama replied: That's way better than eating each other.
PrairieMom replied: I love that guy. I live That man Vs. wild guy "Bear" too, but I think that if Bear and Les went at it head to head, Les would win hands down.
Crystalina replied: Ok, here is what I found...
Source of info here
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well duh of course the company is going to recommend against eating them.
I saw that at an "edibles" party. Where everyone has to bring a non-food item which is edible. Someone brought crocs.
Anthony275 replied: hey, they're starting to make soy clothing, of course they're making edible footwear
My3LilMonkeys replied: I found this article - the relevant info:
C&K*s Mommie replied: Love them for kids. Super easy to slip on and run out the door in for the kiddos. Comfy for me as an adult, but very hot. I'd prefer to go shoeless anyhow. I have a white pair, well a pair that used to be white that I wore to class and I cannot get them white anymore.
Kentuckychick replied: yeah... I read that too in an article defending nurses wearing them in hospitals (which hey, whatever floats their boat). But then I sat there and thought about it and the more I thought about it the more I realized...
The shoes can be as bacteria resistant and anti-microbial as they want to be... that doesn't mean the socks or the feet inside them are! And the thought of some bacterial flesh eating microbes slipping off the resistantness of the shoes and straight on through to my sock clad non bacterial resistant or heaven forbid even my bare foot.... that's gives me the heebee jeebies
Crystalina replied: Yea, but did they eat them?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well not the whole shoe, but yes. Everyone shared everyone's non-food edible.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I love my crocs! Spencer has 3 pairs of the cheap knock of ones and I just bought a pair knock offs for Claudia for $3.49. There pink and she can't wait to wear them!
DillsMommy replied: I work in a nursing home, so I wear mine to work. Very comfortable, but not-so-cute.
coasterqueen replied: Both my girls have two pair - knock off brands. I refuse to spend that much money on the name brand ones when their feet grow so fast. Kylie wears hers every once in awhile. Megan - it's the only thing she will wear. Try to put anything else on her feet and she screams.
ETA I think they are ugly on adults.
lisar replied: I agree.
luvbug00 replied: ugly looking but i've never tried any on.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I have to admit, they are great for working in the yard. Beware though, they do shrink if wet and then left in the sun. DH did this with a real pair of Crocs (expensive, but FIL bought them) and now his pair fit me! Size 11 down to size 8! I use his now to paint the house since I don't care if paint spills on them. Good for picking up poop in the yard too!
CantWait replied: CROCS
3xsthefun replied: No, none of us have them... I think they are ugly.
jcc64 replied: Not a fan, and I'm kind of sick of them.
Boo&BugsMom replied: DITTO! I think they are uuuuuuuuuuuuu-GLY! They look comfortable, but they aren't all that fashionable looking. No thanks for me.
MotherForever2043 replied: I really think they are better looking on kids then adults. I tried on a pair at the store , and I did not like them one bit!
Brias3 replied: I hated the look at first but now all of us, with the exception of Bruce, have a pair or two. The kids love them and think they are so comfy. I have a cute pair of the open toe one, its the sandal (but not the thong) design. So comfortable to slip on and go!
Celestrina replied: I'm surprised to hear that they are so comfortable. They just look too ugly for my tastes.
redchief replied: The first time I saw them I thought to myself, "My, aren't they ugly. The United States is going to go ga-ga for them." I was right. I think they look and make their wearers look ridiculous.
