Canon S3 IS?

What setting do you use for indoors to get the best pics? What setting do you use for outdoors to get the best pics?
The ISO button only gives you the option of HI ISO or Auto ISO How do I change it to a specific ISO?
I took 255 pics today and most turned out grainy but didn't see this until I put them on the computer. What causes them to be grainy? The setting or the ISO?
How do I fix the graininess on the pics I do have? I got alot of good pics of Eliana but can't use them as they are grainy.
How do I set the pixels? What is the best pixel setting?
Any other tips to take better pics with this Canon S3 IS? Any other settings that are best to use?
The manual is a bit confusing and doesn't really read in english LOL.
Thanks Jeannette

i hope this helps you. thats one hell of a camera
sunrosejenn replied: Thanks. I LOVE the camera just need to figure out all the gazillion features. That site helped a tiny bit.
holley79 replied: Jeannette, I am looking at the same camera on newegg.com is it a good camera for the money?
Anthony275 replied: to tell you the truth, you dont need that many mega pixels in a camera
moped replied: Oh I disagree - I think you need all those!
Cece00 replied: That is true. Its only a 6 mp.
It really depends on what you want to do with the pictures, anyway.
CantWait replied: I agree. I have a 4 now, and when I got it it was enough, now though, I need more.
holley79 replied: Well I have a very OLD camera. They don't even make them anymore and I think it's just a 2.0 no zoom no nothing. I have a 35 Canon Rebel TI that I love but would love to have the digital one. The Canon S3 looks like it would take great pictures and I love the features on it. We will have to see.
These are the other two that I have shown Dh I was interested in:

I will have to add another camera to my research to see if it's what I want.
sunrosejenn replied: I got it off eBay and got a good deal. I added a 3 year warranty and battery charger and batteries for an extra $79

sunrosejenn replied: I went from a 2mp to a 5mp to this one now 6mp. I honestly will not be going any bigger.
Our Lil' Family replied: WOW, that's a smokin hot deal!
sunrosejenn replied: I had a Fuji 35MM then a digital Fuji. My third camera was a Fuji Z1 and it died after 13 months due to Zoom Error just last week. Fuji is going to look at it for free and let me know condition wise what they can do. I needed a camera in the meantime so I got this for an early birthday present to myself. I've heard others talk highly about the Fuji S700 as well as the Canon S3 IS. The Canon S3 IS does have ALOT of features and I can't wait to figure it all out. Good Luck picking a new camera.
sunrosejenn replied: YES that's why I had to get it
holley79 replied:
Just emailed it to DH for him to look at it.
sunrosejenn replied: Great!
Anthony275 replied: i meant to say that in just a regular digital camera (not one of those professional ones) it's not necessary to have all of those. i have a new canon powershot (not sure what model) but i set the pixel setting low, you dont need every detail.
think about it, do you really want to take a picture of somebody, upload it on the computer and realize that you see all the wrinkles and detail?
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I absolutely want it.
Not necessarily for the wrinkles but I can take a picture of all three kids, decide that two of them look like poo and crop just the third out and than turn around and print it in 8x10 w/o missing out on any quality.
Cece00 replied: I thought that about my last camera. Now I have a 10.1
