Can't Apply for School....
mummy2girls wrote: I wanted to apply for the early childhood education course they have at a college near me for September of next year. But when i looked at the requirements I needed ...my grade 12 english is too low of a mark. I need 65 and because i slacked in that one course in school i just passed with a 50. So now i have to take a correspondense course to upgrade my english to a 65 before even apllying. And the course get this is 600 bucks..Nice eh? So i talked it over with my parents. And my dad said he will give me 400 and then i just need to pay the remainder 200. He knows how much i want to go to school so for him to do this means the world. So i am going to register for my english in jan and then hopefully in 2006 i can apply for school. oh well. Another year is not going to destroy me. Im just a little diassapointed thats all!
favre4fan replied: I am going to school for that!! I did not start until May of this year, so I figure better late than never. i hope everything works out!!
5littleladies replied: I'm sorry that you can't start as soon as you like but I think it is awesome that you aren't giving up! Good luck!
mummy2girls replied: Cool. I want to do this course which is 2 years and then work towards getting a kindergarten teacher diploma after... Im really excited! The nice thing also about this is the college that ill be attending they have a daycare right on campus. So jenna will go there while i go to school. how cool is that. then i wont have to depend on anyone whgen it comes to picking her up on my late days....
Kaitlin'smom replied: bummer but at least your going to get what you need, thats great Shelly. I never finished since I had no clue what i wanted to do and I did not want to waste any more money, but I have a great career now and I might end up owning it one day
good job and best of luck shelly, I hope all your dreams come true
favre4fan replied: That is so cool they have a daycare right there, that is definately helpful. Its wonderful you have decided to do that!!
Josie83 replied: That's crap that you have to do delay it by a year but at the same time great that your dad's going to help you! I bet you can't wait to get started . . . imagine if you end up teaching jenna! xx
mummy2girls replied: Thas what everyone says but by the time im done schooling jenna will be 7. Or close to 7. So that wont happen. BUT I could end up teaching my neice! LOL.
A&A'smommy replied: awwww hun I'm sorry its just one little step back and once you get started it will be a big step forward towards your dream! That is really cool that they have a daycare on campus that should be REALLY helpful!! Good luck with everything!!!
My2Beauties replied: Well I know it sucks that you have to wait an extra year but I am proud of you for keeping with it and going though with it, lots of people would have given up after finding out that kind of information. You go girl!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: that sucks that you have to wait another year, but at least you're doing something! My dh has had about a year and a half of school left for like 3 years and something keeps happening to keep him from getting anymore done. It's really nice that there will be a daycare right there for Jenna too!
DansMom replied: Oh, man! I'm sorry you have to wait over one course. I gave up on going back to school for nursing due to the amount of math and science courses I'd have to take as prerequisites just to qualify. Don't get discouraged! I wish I had made the effort in retrospect.
MommyToAshley replied: I am glad that you didn't get discouraged and you are continuing with your plans. I am a little confused, you can only register one time a year? I wonder if there are some online courses that can transfer that you can take in the meantime?
Again, good for you for staying focused and doing what it takes to reach your goal!
Alice replied: Isn't there a way you could start after one semester??? Just delay six months?
Also, is is possible to take the English course somewhere else for less money?? Community College?? Adult Ed at the High School??
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I hope the year passes quickly for you! I'm sorry you couldn't enroll this year.
Alice replied: So why don't you??? It's not too late. Barrons or somebody MUST publish review books on the courses you need. Look into it!!Life's too short for regrets that you can still change!!
Mommy2BAK replied: Same here!
