Cary (KitKatsMom) had to take Lauren to the ER...

I have no idea what the ramifications are except to know that if you catch it early (which they did) the baby should be fine...

loveydad replied: oh no poor sweet baby! They just can't get a break can they? Lauren's such a sweetie, and I know RSV can be deadly for preemies (cause my son can't take his kids out in the winter, or at least has to be careful) but i'm not sure how bad it is with a full term infant.

3boys4me replied: My son has been in the hospital for RSV. He was 6 mo at the time. They put in an IV for fluids, gave him oxygen. He did a few breathing treatments also. I think the gave him medication also. Maybe antibiotic??? I was staying there with him so I was running on no sleep. He is 6 now.

Hope they come home soon!

party-of-six replied: I dealt with RSV when my twins were just 3 1/2 months old. We were lucky enough that they did not have to be hospitalized but they were on breathing treatments at home for a couple of months.....scary. I hope they are able to get her home soon!! {{{{HUGS}}}}

loveydad replied: Jordan (relative that i'm always talking about) was in teh hospital several times for rsv like stuff but I don't think it was rsv. He was and still is (i think) on a nebulizer during the winter months, but I think it has to do with the fact his mother smoked while she was pregnant with him.

Nicky's been on a nebulizer too but not for RSV.

MomofJandB replied: A doctor told me my son had RSV when he was 2 or 3 months old and that there was nothing she could do and go home!!!! She took about 2 minutes, if that, with us. I think she misdiagnosed him, he was fine. My daughter was fighting pneumonia at the same time, so he could have just gotten some of her germs! Thank God she's not at my Pediatricians office anymore! (its a group practice!) She was horrible!!

I'm glad they have Lauren at the hospital. No better place for her to be when she's so young and sick!! My prayers are with all of them! I sure hope things get better for them!

Kaitlin'smom replied: Oh poor thing Kaitlin has RSV whe she was about 3 months old, they did not do anything for her not even in hospital, she has a very mild case they scared the heck out of me sending me to childerns to have her looked at. Well they confirmed she has it and sent us home. Basicaly they said it was a bad cold for babies, and since she was on the mild sid they would rather he be at home than in a hospital where she might get sicker.

I hope she gets better soon and things calm down for that family

My2Beauties replied: I hope that baby Lauren is doing better! Hanna had a touch of RSV when she was a baby, about 2 months old, they gave her a breathing treatment at the doctor's office and then sent me home with liquid albuterol!!! I think they misdiagnosed her though because she could breathe just fine she has had bad allergies ever since and until now their diagnoses has always been hit or miss!
