Caution - hot surfaces on feet!!!
maliksmommy wrote: This past weekend we were at my sister's in laws for a get together and Malik was running around without any shoes on outside with the other kids and the were playing on the deck and he stepped on the metal part right by the sliding glass door and burnt the bottoms of his feet it was so hot. It was absolutely horrible. He was just standing there screaming in pain. His poor little feet were so red and by bed time last night he had a couple of little blisters and you could tell it hurt him to walk. Just wanted to warn everyone to watch where their little ones are running around because I know so many of us let them be without their shoes on because it's so nice, but I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through that. Malik was crying, I was crying it was just awful!!
alice&arik replied: Thanks for the info! I know things can get pretty hot, and I am new to this Missouri heat so I have to pay attention more.
I hope his feet get better soon, it must be awful to walk.
amynicole21 replied: Oh no!! Poor Malik DH had Sophia outside without shoes on yesterday and just the cement patio felt too hot to me! I don't think we'll be doing that again.
I hope Malik heals up quickly. It sounds awful
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awwww poor little guy! I hope his feet heal soon. Did you take him to the doctor? I would be concerned about the blistering and them getting infected.

jem0622 replied: Yeah I don't let the boys touch the front door to our house or step on the metal piece that is at the base of the door.

Thanks for the info too, I don't know that I would have thought about the the metal around the door jam getting hot.
kit_kats_mom replied: Aw man. I know how that is. I was wearing a pair of black soled heels one year in college. Walking across campus at lunch time the balls of my feet started stinging but I figured my hose were just screwy KWIM? Anyway, by that night I had huge blisters covering the balls of both feet.. I was in serious pain for a few days.
That's a total bummer that it happed to your little guy. I'm sorry.
paradisemommy replied: yep..we know all about that over here..these darn playgrounds are made with like chopped up tires or something and when the sun comes out..they get SUPER hot!
