Ch-Ch-Ch-CHIA!
MommyToAshley wrote: Santa brought Ashley a Chia pet for Christmas. Santa can be so corny sometimes. Anyways, Ashley waters it and opens the curtains to give it sunlight every morning and had been so excited since it started to sprout. She loves this thing, it's so funny. Today, she told me that she is made to be a gardener and she's going to plant her own garden outside this year.
I didn't even realize that Chia pets were making a come back. They were big when I was a kid (guess I am showing my age).
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yes, they were big when I was a kid too. Although I don't think I ever owned one.
Glad she is having fun with it!
Anthony275 replied: dude i want one of these...what happens when they die? i remembre these commercials from 1995
Calimama replied: Glad she's enjoying it!
luvmykids replied: OMG, the memories just came flooding back I had a chia pig
I'm glad she's enjoying it so much, she probably doesn't think Santa is the least bit corny
MommyToAshley replied: I always wanted one but never had one either... hmmm, maybe THAT is why Santa brought one to Ashley.
grandma replied: Man, I'm so jealous I want one so bad, I've had them before. I started to get my brother one for Christmas, but my husband thought it was corny. Now I'm beginning to see why Ashley is such a cool kid....lol
Cece00 replied: My kids each got a chia pet too...they are growing hair on our windowsills as we speak. the kids cant wait to cut their "hair"
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I always wanted one too! That's great that she's enjoying it!
DillsMommy replied: I thought about getting Dylan one. They make scooby-doo and everything now. Do they ever die?
MommyToAshley replied: I don't know if they die or not? But, it came with enough seeds to do 3 plantings... so I guess you can replant it if they do die.
DillsMommy replied: How cool! I want one! What animal did santa bring Ashley?
MommyToAshley replied: Garfield... because the elves were all out of the animals and it was kind of a last minute thought. (I would like to have the sheep )However, she thinks Santa is silly because Garfield has orange hair and not green.
A&A'smommy replied: how cool!!!!!! They were big when I was a kid too
Maddie&EthansMom replied: No way!!!! I'm SO jealous!!! I collect pigs..I always wanted a Chia pig!!!
Ashley has the BEST Santa!!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: lol. you may be on to something. Maybe that's why santa brought Katherine the ultimate set of original colorforms this year. They are all over our sliding glass windows right now and a full half is my design. those things are awesome. I wanna see a pic of Ashley with her Chia pet
Hillbilly Housewife replied: That was my nickname in elementary school........
MoonMama replied: I want a Chia sheep! Glad she's enjoying it.
luvmykids replied: I used to collect them too....I don't know what happened to the stuff I'd gathered over the years
CantWait replied: We had one when I was younger, they're quite expensive here now, start at $20. I also remember how hard it was to grow. Ashley must be a VERY good gardener indeed.
Crystalina replied: Santa gets my kids one every year.
And every year I forget that I have to soak it for 24 hours before using it.
Crystalina replied: ...and why in the heck are they almost $20?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: If I post aa pic of why it was my nickname... ya'll promise not to blackmail me?
Cece00 replied: Promise! I wanna see!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: ok............. lol
Cece00 replied: Aw, I dont even think it was that bad. I've been to school with ppl who had way curlier hair that stuck out a whole lot more. Shame on ppl for teasing you.
I used to wear glasses, and they were REALLY UGLY glasses (hey, I didnt know better, I was like 8) and I used to get teased hard core for that.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I've got others...... *shiver*
kids are cruel. As if the curly hair and glasses weren't enough.. I got pretty chunky as a kid. I lost it pretty quick though, once ppl started to call me other names. But I sitll ahd the darn Fro.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Here's one of the Fro. This is the following year. Notice all the lost weight? Any my mother was kind enought to let me pose with no glasses.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: La creme de la creme... ugh.
Cece00 replied: That shirt is the bomb.
I wish I had some scanned pics of me as a kid...maybe I will get to that sometime this week & post them for you...
Its baddddd
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Honey that's no shirt, that's a DRESS. With a bow on the butt. I think I actually still have it stashd in one of my cedar chests.
Cece00 replied: OK, I'm sorry but
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
Dont worry, I wore some ugly sh*t back in the day too.
CantWait replied: I dunno. I really wanted to get the boys one each, but $40 was a little rediculous.
MommyToAshley replied: $20?!?
I paid $9.99 for it. Maybe it was a sale, I don't know... like I said, it was an impulse thing.
sparkys2boys replied: And here I was expecting something sooooo bad you nut!!!! I dont see any green sprouts??? I dont get it
lisar replied: I loved the chia pets when I was little. But I havent gotten Lexi one yet. She isnt interested.
TheOaf66 replied: u could buy her that Chia Herbs thing, you grow your own herbs like a chia pet so you can grow basil and whatever else
Kaitlin'smom replied: that sounds like fun, maybe I can get one for Kaitlin for valentines day......I knwo she would love it. Since she wants to garden this year thins might be a good start for her.
holley79 replied: I think that is hiliarous. I saw commercials for them not too long ago and saw them at walgreens. I didn't know they were making a come back either. Glad she is enjoying it. I was looking at one of the Chia herb gardens.
