Checking in..

Calimama wrote: Hey guys! DH finally set up the laptop for bit for me. We evcuated to Anaheim where DH has family, we've been here a couple days now.. I can't remember what today is.. I'm so behind. Anyway we were planning on going home last night and then the base we live on started catching on fire. There have been 3 fires, one is distingushed and 2 are still blazing. The scariest (IE biggest) has reached 10,000 acres I believe. So for now we are staying here. We woke up this morning to a smoke cloud over this house, I'm praying we won't have to leave here as well. DH was set to deploy in a couple weeks, I don't where that stands as military is off of work and half of them are evcuated... we'll see I guess. I'm just grateful that we aren't in a shelter, don't get me wrong, I'm VERY thankful for what San Diego county/red cross has done for us all so far, it's just much easier with a 1 yr old to be with family.

I have a good friend in San Diego. Her dh is also military and she was saying earlier in the day that they would stay on base if they had to evacuate their home. I'm guessing it's not the same base you live on. Of course things may have changed since I last heard from her, too.

You and your family are in my prayers. Good luck and heres to a speedy return. The horrible thing is, I just heard on the news that some of them were probably started on purpose. Hope they catch them and when they do I hope they lock them up and throw away the key.
