Child Bite! - Fortunately I wasn't there

DH said the mom of the other toddler was horrified and mortified. Besides feeling physical pain, Daniel was confused by what happened and his feelings were hurt. Apparently there was no conflict going on between them. That mom must have been so embarrassed. I'm glad I wasn't there though.

My2Carebears replied: awww Poor sweetie. Did the mom say anything about it or do anything? Hopefully he doesn't do that to Another child. Hug Daniel for us!!

Jamison'smama replied: I just know that will happen to us--Jamison is biting me sometimes--just leans over and bites my shoulder---She is learning that she shouldn't do it---I guess it feels good to bite so I show her other items it is okay to bite but until she learns we may be in some trouble.

I know this is normal but yikes I am not looking forward to being on either side of the biting. Hugs to you and Daniel!!

kimberley replied: OMG! poor Daniel! how is he dealing now? i know Jacob was so hurt that another kid would bite him when it happened to him. it also was an unprovoked attack i hope Daniel heals quickly.

I hope the mom was really apologetic and told the kid that biting is wrong at least!

amynicole21 replied: Poor baby! I'm glad he is ok, but I feel so badly that a little bit of his innocence was lost if you know what I mean... he now knows that sometimes people hurt you for no reason.

I am so scared that Sophia is going to start biting kids soon. She bit me so hard today on the wrist, and wouldn't let up. I was screaming and pushing her away, but that little pirranha wouldn't budge! She didn't break the skin, but if she had bit a baby that hard she would have. She just smiled at me when I yelled at her, too. Time out worked for 2 seconds, but at least it's a start.

DansMom replied: Thanks everybody! Two days later you can hardly see the bruise, and Daniel seems to have forgotten the incident. I agree that I'd rather be the mom of the bite-e! According to DH, that mom was very apologetic, was at a loss for how to handle this new problem with her child, and did what she could. Me, I was a biter into Kindergarten---I remember being punished for biting another girl on the arm. So I guess this is some kind of karma...?
