Chili anyone?

I am doing my annual cook and freeze that I do in the fall, and today was chili. I looked at the recipie figured I wanted to multiply that by 5 wrote down the ingredients and went to the store. When I was paying I was like thats a lot of $ for some chili... well... long story short, and an entire afternoon later, turns out last year when I wrote down the recipie I already multiplied it by at least 3, I don't know for sure, but I have a TON of chili. Like literally. It filled up 3 HUGE pots. I even had to get out my canning pot. I filled all 3 to nearly over flowing. I divided them into Tupperware containers, that are aprox 6 serving each. I filled up all I had, 8 Tupperware. then I had to put them into single serving ones to take to work, I filled all I had, 7 servings worth. You guys, I still have 2/3 of a pot left. We will be eating chili at least once a week the entire winter. I am going to have to freeze the rest in gallon Ziploc baggies.
Kaitlin'smom replied: oh tara thats and sounds like something I would totaly do. altho I am not fond of chili....I woudl love to find a good soup to make in bulk and freeze in to single servings I LOVE soup in the winter.
PrairieMom replied: Its so easy for DH when I am working. That way I know the kids are eating healthy. If I didn't have something he could grab and thaw the kids would be eating arbys all the time.

HuskerMom replied: Wow that's a lot of chili! How long did it take you to make all of it?
PrairieMom replied: all afternoon. About 5 1/2 hours. Its nice now that I am done. it wouldn't have taken me half as long if I haddn't needed to take the time to round up all the extra containers.
