Christmas Dresses

It's even worse now that Ashley is out of the "toddler" sizes. She wears a 6x or 7 and it is proving to be impossible to find a cute little girl's holiday dress. Cece00 replied: WHAT??? I've seen a million cute & tasteful ones. I've been looking for long sleeve cotton dresses (WHY are those so hard to find???) and since its Christmas time, all I am seeing is Christmas dresses.

I saw cute & tasteful ones today @ Target...and what about Hanna Andersson?

coasterqueen replied: I know the feeling. Kylie actually found one at Penny's a few months back when we were shopping for a rehearsal dress for that Sept. wedding she was in. I hated buying it so early but she saw it, wanted it, and I decided why not. It's plain creme, sleeveless, but then I found a sweater to go over it. She wears a size 6. I haven't checked at Penny's recently, but when we bought Kylie's they had several that didn't look too grown up for that size.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have not really looked. I usualy get one from flordia (grandma sends one) I am not sure if she will send one this year. The one I was going to use in our family pic is not really christmasy its pink and black. I do agree I dont like the 6 and up clothes way to grown up looking. Even some 5's are to much for me.

I'll try JCPenny's... I'm just not a huge fan of the mall. Geesh, when I was a teenager, I lived at the mall -- I never would have guessed that I would say that. LOL!

My2Beauties replied: I was also going to suggest Penney's, they have a huge selection of them and they are a good price too. I always find that WalMart, Target etc...has cutesie ones for the toddler sizes (which Hanna still wears thank goodness) but when you look in the older girls section they're not really what I'd like my daughter to be wearing.

I was going to suggest them too, I saw some great ones last week. And suprisingly, Sears had some gorgeous ones.

she didn't hate it but she didn't love it either but that's too bad! I thought it was cute!

jcc64 replied: What about Talbot's Kids? Very pricey but classic and tasteful. Also Gymboree, though I don't know how big their sizes go? Corey's still in the 3T range!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I got Maddie's at Dillards on clearance this summer. It's beautiful, long and classy. It's a size 7.

I can't believe Maddie and Ashley are in the same size!!! Who will I give her hand me downs to now?

mom21kid2dogs replied: You can get great deals on Hanna stuff on EBay. None of their stuff is "old" looking. Also, I've gotten very nice dresses at Kohl's, JC Penny and Macy's. You will have to wade through the hooker styles there.

Anyhow, I can't believe they sell strapless for little girls...Wow! Okay, that's all I can contribute. Just like men have no trouble finding something to wear, takes them five minutes in a store, my boys get a sweater and slacks for the holidays...DONE. Sorry, have fun shopping!

I worked in the mall for over four years and you wouldn't believe what they make for little kids. Some of the stuff seems to cater to parents that expect their kids to become hookers someday. What scares me more is that parents actually buy this crud. Santa was right in front of our store every year. I would get a little jealous when I'd see a little girl in an adorable red velvet dress, and thankful I had a boy when I'd see one dressed like a tramp.

Dee Dee here is Taylor's Christmas dress. She picked it out herself-it seems the 'sewing elves' must have made it for it to look so close to a santa suit! She is going to wear it to the Nutcracker ballet

moped replied: Gosh I can't wait to look for dresses, but this year she got PJ's that look like Santa. I didn't want to put her in a stiff fancy dress at a fwe days old.

Sorry you are having a hard time - we have the best store here for that size and really cute dresses, but I know it is Canadian. And now that I think about it, it may be too old for her too
