Christmas Pictures
Maddie&EthansMom wrote: We have never had a family portrait taken and Maddie is 3!! So, we decided to do one at Christmas. I have always gone to Kiddie Kandids, but they are quite expensive on their Christmas cards. Should we go somewhere like Sears, JCPenney's or Target. I was thinking JCPenney's b/c their pictures look good online and they have some specials going right now. Has anyone used them and were you happy with them? We need to get them done soon b/c it takes several weeks to get them back. TIA!
coasterqueen replied: I use JC Penny. I have always been satisfied with the pictures and the quality of them. I'm not much help, though, because my DD NEVER cooperates so she rarely smiles for her pics. LOL. Sometimes I get a crappy photographer, but for the most part I really like Penny's. If you go to the link at the bottom of my sig you can see my Penny pics. They are under photo album...then 3 mos prof, 6 mos prof, 9 mos prof, 12 mos prof (that has our family photos in it).
HTH!
Jamison'smama replied: Okay, I am a picture junkie--I just responded to the Picture People post--JC Penney is the other place I use regularly--my sig is a JC Penney pic.
I use them because they are very inexpensive and they are really good especially for what you pay. You can find coupons for 3.99 per sheet with a 9.99 per person sitting fee. I have a portriait club membership there as well---it is 29.99 (with a coupon) and is good for 2 years--you also get several free things with the membership and if you go more than 3 times or have more than one person in your photo it pays for itself.
I really like the pictures--they do pretty standard sittings but they can be creative if you let them know what you would like.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Karen- Those pictures are great! I think she looks adorable!! She looks happy to me!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I use JcPenneys all the time! In fact our first family picture is next saturday! I love them and have had good pictures from them. Let me know if you have other questions I will be happy to help.
FYI -if you do decide to use them you might consider getting the club membership, so you will get some more free stuff and it will be about the cost you will spen on sitting fees
HTH
MommyToAshley replied: I used JCPenny for Ashley's Easter pictures. They had live ducks as a special so we had her pics taken with them. They had a problem with the first set of pics and lost the photos "in the system" so we had to have them taken again. They were cheaper but we had to wait over two weeks for them and got them back after Easter.
Here's her Easter Pics
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I wanted inexpensive and I think they do a great job judging from you guys pics. I looked at their prices on line and they seem to be great (especially with the coupons). I have used Sears and they were okay, but got kind of lazy towards the end. I will try to have in mind what I want when I go in. Maybe you can help with backgrounds, etc.
I would like a plain blackground. DH will wear a black suit with a red tie. I will wear a black dress and Maddie will wear a bright red dress with a big plaid bow around the waist. Should we go with a plain white background or add some color? I'm not good at this.
MommyToAshley replied: and another example
Kaitlin'smom replied: here are some of my examples....this was a special one they printed and I bought when I pick up my pictures
Kaitlin'smom replied: one more
Kaitlin'smom replied: you can do both, but usually I let the photographer pick them, unless there is something I really dont want
maliksmommy replied: We have always used Sears because of the fact that you can get 50 pictures for about $6 and we have a membership so we don't pay sitting fee, but I have been looking into other places for our Christmas pictures. I need to make an appointment so I can send them out with my Christmas cards.
