Christmas Shopping

momofone wrote: I started already! laugh.gif I bought my daughter's teacher Godiva chocolates. Do you think that is a nice gift for a teacher?

CantWait replied: Oh gosh girl, you're crazy. I think chocolate always works, and Godiva is yummy, but might it be a bit early to buy chocolate??

momofone replied:
I thought that too but I ask the store if it would stay fresh and they said it would be fine, I hope so. dunno.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Haha, I'd eat it before Christmas rolls around!

I started too....only got my nephew's so far but I've got lots picked out, just trying to space them out.

momofone replied: I also bought my daughter two webkinz before I can't find the ones she wants. happy.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I never start until November. Except for Secret Santa for here. Besides, I'd just have to move it and hide it again. And I agree, I couldn't keep chocolate in my house for that long without eating it. I can't even keep chocolate chips.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: i am currently knitting my nieces longies (diaper covers) since that is what my sister wanted for them. Toys and games for the other niece and nephews. My kids each have a couple things but I am by no stretch done. Need to do a few more things for them then I was going to do all the stocking stuff, at that point I will be done. My goal is to be done buying this month then I can wrap in the evenings next month and be able to have everything under the the tree the day after thanksgiving.

coasterqueen replied: I'd probably eat the chocolate too. happy.gif

I almost have the girls done. I don't like shopping so early, but it's the only way I can afford to do it. If I save the money it gets spent on something else so as soon as I have some extra money I buy stuff. I actually started back in August. blush.gif I just bought my mom's gift today. happy.gif

luvmykids replied: Haven't even thought about it. I'll start wishing I had around the second week of December laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I haven't started yet... but I will next month before I have a job on alyssa birthday and I will use every bit of it on christmas wink.gif I hate shopping for christmas its too hard!!!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well my lists are done... and we get stuff here and there... but i'm nowhere near done.

moped replied: I have been done shopping for quite a while, but with baby on the way I need to be........ wink.gif

Cece00 replied: I have gotten a very good start this year. I am almost done with DH (I bought him an XBOX 360, though, so he isnt getting too much more....so far I got him 1 game to go with it..) and I've gotten some things for my daughter & stocking stuffers for my older boys and a couple of smaller presents.

Usually I do not start this early. But I've gotten some very good deals this year. Aside from the almost $500 I've spent on DH for his gaming system, I've spent MAYBE $75 on presents and that is pretty darn good for me. We dont buy toys all year long any time the kids want, but we do like to buy for Christmas.

I am hoping to be done right after Black Friday, so I can save some $$$ for DH to buy me some stuff. Honestly, I love to buy for ppl but cant think of much *I* want and DH hates that because I'll spend so much on him & then I'm like "Uhhh, I dont really want anything" and he wants to spend as much on me as I spend on him.

So I figure if I shop early for everyone this year, I shouldnt have more than a few last minute gifts to get & I can save all the extra $$ for DH to be able to spend as much on me as I did on him rolling_smile.gif

Bamamom replied: I'm really having trouble coming up with stuff to buy for Katie Grace. All of the toys that we have for that age are gender neutral so she has plenty of toys and I don't want her to look back the pictures and say "Why did Tripp get so many toys and all I got was a few outfits" growl.gif

Any suggestions for a 7 month old girl? I've gotten her a doll and that's it.

A&A'smommy replied:
Learning toys? wink.gif ummmmmm stuffed animals (I hate that one alyssa literally has 3 BIG storage bins full)
This has a bunch of ideas for that age group

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh wow, you guys are gooooooooooood! Doesn't cross my mind until about the first or second week in December! laugh.gif DH's birthday is on the 22nd of Dec, so my mind is so focused on what to buy him that I often neglet the thought of holiday gifts! blush.gif Luckily for me, its not a big deal in my family as far as what and how much we give - so last minute shopping tends to work for me. thumb.gif

holley79 replied: Chocolate is always a great gift.

I am going Christmas shopping this weekend. Heading to KMart to put Annika's Christmas and Birthday on layaway. happy.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I have started getting for Alex, I like to spend a little at a time and not a ton of money all at once

Bamamom replied: Thanks guys - good suggestions!!!

MommyToAshley replied: I can't even buy chocolate for Halloween candy yet or it'd be gone, let alone keep it around until Christmas. blush.gif The day after Thanksgiving usually kicks off the holiday spirit for me, and thus the shopping. But, I am always a last minute shopper. blush.gif
