Christmas gifts - What's your toddler getting?
quinnandjacob'smom wrote: Just wondering what Santa is bringing your little one. Jacob's getting a shopping cart filled w/"groceries," a tool bench, some clothes, jammies, a train made of blocks, a pull toy and a couple of dvd's. I'm trying not to overbuy, but man they have some cute stuff out there
My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke (3) is such a girly girl....she wants nail polish, earrings, clothes and spongebob stuff.. . Her big present is getting her ears pierced which we'll be doing this weekend.
Madison (1) is into books and noisy toys, so she'll be fun to shop for this year.
PrairieMom replied: Ben (3) is getting a magna doodle, a hotwheels track and hopefully one of those childrens digital cameras from us. I don't know what hes getting from the rest of the family. I do think someone is going to get him a Mr Potato head.
Ally is getting 2 car seats and some baby gates for christmas. She's totally getting the shaft. Ben will be getting her some sort of a toy, probably some peeka blocks or something along that line.
I will be getting my niece (18 months) one of those play tents. Ben has one and LOVES it.
hawkshoe replied: Anthony will be 5 and I got him an mp3 player and docking speakers. I know that sounds a bit odd, but he loves music and is always stealing my dh's ipod. I am not sure what else I will get him.
msoulz replied: LOL, Erin got new sheets for her crib, shoes, and a TV guard for her birthday - talk about the shaft!! She did also get a toy phone.
For Christmas she will be getting a quilt (pretty lavendar one!), one of those booster seats with a tray that attaches to a kitchen chair, and that is all I have thought of so far. I may be a total cheapskate and recycle some of Jake's books as she does like the board books. Heck, she won't know the difference! And he isn't likely to remember either. In fact, I should go digging in the basement to see what else I can recycle.
Is that awful??
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Santa isn't getting anything for the kids, we don't do the whole Santa thing.
We did get Zach and Emilie a Game Boy Advance (blue and pink respectively) and we also bought 8 games, including a couple Franklin ones, a couple Dora ones, and a copy of "The Bible Game". They're only going to get one of the games though, the rest will be for Emilie's birthday on December 28th, Easter and other special days.
We haven't gotten anything for Naomie, she doesn't need anything, and I don't need any more toys or books in the house - they're already mating like bunnies... She won't care anyways...she'll be happy to play with the discarded wrapping paper.
PrairieMom replied: nope. whats the difference? I think Ally has gotten maybe 2 new toys from us since she was born. When Ben was tiny he would get something new every time I went to the store!
lesliesmom replied: DS (3) is getting some THomas trains, a couple rugged riggz and some food that goes with the magickitchen they both got last year...
DD#1 (5) is getting a Leapster L-Max and some food for the aforementioned kitchen, not sure what else..she needs a couple more incident items from mommy and daddy...santa is bringing the Leapster (he brings one big gift for each child)
DD#2 (6 months) is probably getting the empty boxes and wrapping paper..she is definitenly going to get the shaft this year, but she really won't know or understand (I hope)... she'll get a stocking of teething foods, baby foods, little toys, etc...
C&K*s Mommie replied: Santa is still an topic of debate in this house.
So from family and us Christian will be getting clothes, the LeapFrog system (to finally complete the cartridges & books that my father got her for birthday last year), probably more Dora things, baby dolls, books.
Kellie will be getting clothes, books, baby dolls, Dora playthings.
My personal gift to them is to complete their room with the border, and stenciling I have been meaning to do for over two years now.
Kaitlin'smom replied: not sure what all she will get, deffianlty things she can use like clothes a new bathrobe, and a couple things she wants dress up clothes play makeup and maybe one new toy. Big things she is getting is new bedroom funiture, she got the bed already and as I can I will finsh out the collection. Her b-day is 3 days after so I will pick a few things form the already bougth and set aside for b-day. I think I already probably have to much but its all small things and most I got over the last couple months on clearance.
Maddy'sMommy replied: Maddys main present is to redo her room into a big girl room. So I got her a toddler bed and all the necessities. But of course I have to spoil her... so we got her a baby stroller for her dolls and a new baby doll, leapfrog train, the leapfrog alphabet letters for the fridge, lots of books, and flashcards, and a couple cars. My mom is getting her a kichen so I think she is set.... now to shop for dh!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: We're giving Andrew a rocking horse and the Little People farm set. He'll get a few things from grandparents and aunts and uncles too, but the only thing I know he's getting from them is my parents are giving him some building blocks and a child sized Dirt Devil cleaning set with a broom, dustpan and mop, which he'll LOVE. (and mommy will love it too because maybe he'll stop dragging out all of my brooms and mops when I'm trying to clean. )
lisar replied: Raygen is getting a power wheels 4-wheeler. I cant wait.
moped replied: Well a bunch of different stuff:

I know he is getting a Thomas computer game
coasterqueen replied: Oh gosh, I've been buying for the girls off and on since summer so I'm not sure what all I have and after thinking about it they probably won't get 1/2 of it because it would be way too much.

I know it sounds like a LOT and it is, but most everything they are going to share or I got at steal prices. The gator we would not have gotten if it wasn't for the fact that we got it 40% off the regular price at a closeout store here in town. We got it more for Megan, though, and it will also be a birthday gift for her (in March).
