redchief replied: The passing of Christopher Reeves is indeed sad. Unfortunately, the severity of his condition was probably unknown to him until it was too late. Sepsis is a horrible systemic infection that, once it gains a foothold, is extremely difficult to control. Add to that the fact that Mr. Reeves was already immune compromised, and it's a deadly combination.

I pray for his soul and for strength for his family.

I mean it seems like the last time I heard about him he was trying so hard to find technology to reverse his spinal injury so he could walk again. If anyone could help those with spinal injuries it was him. I was so hopeful he'd find a "cure" before he passed on.

My2Beauties replied: Yes I heard this on the news yesterday! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and that is so sad. I heard somewhere that people with his type of condition normally only live about 7 years and he lived 9!!!

Isn't is odd that John Kerry made reference to him at the debate? That was the first I had heard of Christopher Reeves name in a long time and now this! Did anyone see the Barbara Walters tribute to him? It was very well done.

Janet Leigh as well. I must have missed that. I am saddened about Christopher Reeves. He had such strength and quite a presence even after being confined to a wheelchair. My thoughts are with his family.
