Cleaning day - what is yours?
mckayleesmom wrote: What day is your designated catch up on cleaning day?...Mine is Monday...Today....bleh.
I usually deep clean the kitchen, sweep, mop, catch up on laundry....pick up toys and junk in the living room, wash my futon cover and pillows and put all the laundry away......Tomorow is bathroom day....
mom2my2cuties replied: I tend to do a little bit every day.
Today I have been working on laundry, the kitchen, the bathroom (well the 1/2 bath so far - will tackle the other 2 later) and stuff like that. Mondays are also my "pet care" days.
I am going to make my husband and gal clean up the living room tonight...I am also going to vaccum the upstairs today.
luvmykids replied: I do a little everyday, I love the flylady system.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Every day - I clean 1 room every day in addition to dishes, laundry and picking up toys. Since we live in a small house (only 7 rooms) it works really well for me.
Cece00 replied: I do a little bit every day...I also do laundry every day, or I have one heck of a time keeping up.
kimberley replied: sunday. i try to get stuff done during the week but never much more than cleaning a small room, dishes, tidying and cooking. any big stuff is left for sunday as saturday is errand day
3xsthefun replied: I do a little bit everyday.
ediep replied: I have a cleaning lady that comes every other Tuesday, but I have to do some inbetween cleaninga too
PrairieMom replied: thursday is my day. I wash all the bedding, and deep clean the bathrooms and kitchen... I hate to clean so if I didn't have a set time to do it, it wouldn't get done.
Our Lil' Family replied: We're supposed to clean?
Just kidding. I really wish I could pick a day and stick with it but I can't....so it gets done when it gets done, no specific day.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Sunday afternoons and or Mondays are catch up on cleaning...sweep and mop and put laundry away, sometimes windows, and vacumme and there is always some sort of housework to do everyday...dishes, vacumme, sweep, and wipe down the bathroom
Its all just a never ending cycle!
mommyofpremitwins replied:
Ok I want a cleaning lady also. I don't have a specific day but my mom always does hers on Monday also.
Nina J replied: I do a bit everyday
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ditto.
Did you smile the first time you did the sink thing? I did, and laughed my butt off when I realized it.
mom2my2cuties replied: Ok - What the heck is this Fly lady thing?????
Hillbilly Housewife replied: www.flylady.com
wonderful!!!!!!!
JP&KJMOM replied: Mine is usually on the weekends since I work all week. I do picking up every night and laundry most evenings. I usually spend all day either on Saturday or Sunday doing the deep cleaning!
coasterqueen replied: Same here. Course even when I was on materity leave or off several days with the girls for whatever reason I never found the time to do cleaning. They keep me too busy to do anything else. So weekends it always is.
luvmykids replied: Yeah, some of it is kinda corny but it works so I'm stickin with it!
DillsMommy replied: So flylady really works? I've heard of it, but never tried. I usually clean on fridays, so it's clean for the weekends, when people usually stop over. And wednesdays... my day off. Of course laundry is an everyday thing though.
mom2my2cuties replied: I am sold on flylady - After reading thier website - it seems easier than my "non stop cleaning routine"
Boo&BugsMom replied: Thursdays is laundry and Friday afternoons is house cleaning. Now, every day though is pick up after the hubby day so I really don't get a day of no cleaning at all.
TheOaf66 replied: hey that is not fair, u clean up after your kids more than me
Boo&BugsMom replied: Honey, you ARE like one of my kids!
TheOaf66 replied: then stop complaining then
Adrienne522 replied: Working 40 hours a week and taking care of my little bundle of joy 24 hours a day and also taking care of daddy, I try to do some cleaning everyday. But, the day I do the over haul is on Saturday.
A&A'smommy replied: mondays and fridays are througough cleaning days, I do everything bathroom, kitchen livingroom, my hous is also small so that helps lol, tuesdays are laundry days, and everyday I try to keep up with the dishes and keeping things straight well except saturdays and sundays unless we are having company!
Richard_Cole replied: When my wife and I were married, we shared a lot of the chores. She excelled at some things and I at others. Now that my son and I are without a wife and mother, we've had to come up with new routines, etc. My wife preferred the "clean the whole house at once" approach. I clean as I go. As a single parent it's become imperative that my son start helping out. He seems game. And I've tried to come up with fun ways to get the job done. Usually, I'll pick a room, start talking about how we're going to approach it (or conquer it, to make it seem more like a game.) "You go right, I'll go down the middle, and we'll meet in the endzone." I'm also kind of a tech-geek. My son as well. Here's the biggest change in the routine. To aid in the cleaning I bought a robotic vacuum and mop called the roomba and scooba. They're truly amazing little devices., complete with sensors to manuveur around the room with zero human direction. My son loves them...begs to turn them on really. The dog isn't so sure and that just adds to the fun. For anyone out there who wants to check vacumming and mopping off their to-do list for good, you should look into these.
luvmykids replied: I don't follow it to the letter but I do the daily missions, follow the "zones" and do the daily stuff on the site (like the "swish n swipe" and other daily habits)
coasterqueen replied: My DH is a tech geek too in many ways and we LOVE LOVE our Roomba and Scooba. Roomba is a HE and Scooba is a SHE. Dh likes to see which of the two do a better job cleaning and how fast....he says Roomba always does better as does any male.
