Cleansing...
Maddie&EthansMom wrote: I'm doing a cleansing. You can read more about it at Master Cleansing I'm on day 4 with no food. It has been pretty difficult, but I think for me there is a lot to gain. I was curious if any of you have done this. I know it is popular and has been around for awhile. I will go 7 days on the lemonade followed by one day of orange juice and 2 days of home made organic veg soup. I don't feel hungry or sick. I was almost certain I would have a headache, but I don't . I've learned a lot about myself and I've lost 9 pounds so far. If you are thinking you might try it...just a warning....It isn't easy at all!! Especially if you LOVE food like I do!
amynicole21 replied: Wow! You have more willpower than I do Good luck and keep losing!
mummy2girls replied: aimee..is this safe? i was just wondering because ive heard things like it is and it isnt. im just curious because if its safe then maby ill try it...is it a diet or just a cleansing thing?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Totally safe. It is not a diet although it is called the 'lemonade diet'. It should not be used as a diet, but more of a fasting and meditation time. You can still do it even if you are under weight. You just won't lose any and will gain at the end. I needed to do it for several reasons. I won't mention them all here, but it is a fasting for me.

Thank you for the encouraging words. The thing is, I really don't have a lot of will power. A lot of my problem is that once I start something I never finish it and it is getting through this that is the biggest challenge for me. Like I said, it was created so you don't get hungry. I'm not hungry...I just want food. LOL! A lot of fasts are pure water and that is unbearable for most. This is more the modern day fast, I guess. I'm almost certain if I get through this that I will be able to accomplish anything.
Just a note: My best friend did this a couple of weeks ago. She looks radiant and she feels so good. When she was finished with the fast even the veg soup (which is very bland) tasted so good to her. She now can't handle as many spices as she did before and would prefer something healthy and 'more bland' over the richer, spicier fare. Right now I am craving soup which is odd b/c you would think I would want a big, juicy steak or something great to chew since I have been drinking so much.
ediep replied: wow!! Good Luck to you!
MomToMany replied: I was wondering about the safety of it, too. I've never heard of it before.
It would be a very long time before I could try it though, with nursing 2 kids and all.
I hope it works for you! I agree with the vegetarian comment at the bottom of the page. "The strongest animals in the world are vegetarians" or something like that. Makes sense!
Kaitlin'smom replied: wow you have a lot of strength, right now at this particular time of the month I could not do it....yep AF and I constantly hungry the first 2 days. I would like to try it maybe later this month.....7 days of lemonaid, then oj 1 day and soup 2 days....right?
Maddie&EthansMom replied:
The lemonade is 10 oz distilled or spring water, 2 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon, 2 tbsp genuine maple syrup (grade B if you can find it), and a pinch of cayenne pepper. It tastes like spicy lemonade. It isn't so bad the first time you try it, but after 3 it gets pretty bad. You have to drink atleast 6/day (or 1/2 your weight in ounces)
You do this for 7 days with a laxative tea (Smooth Move) twice a day. On the eighth day you drink orange juice all day. The ninth and tenth days you eat the veggie soup.
It is easiest to print off the directions and study it.
Josie83 replied: Sounds difficult, good luck with it! xx
A&A'smommy replied: OH WOW I think I want to try that!!! SO cool WTG for you! (btw I'm glad to hear that its safe that worried me at first too!)
coasterqueen replied: I would literally go insane, lol.
Sounds like it's working for you! Good luck with the rest of it.
RachelsMomma replied: I had a friend who use to do cleansings periodically and really loved them. I always wanted to try it but never got myself motivated enough to do so. Let us know how it works out for you.
kimberley replied: good for you! do you feel better yet? i would love to do this but i don't have the time or will power with these 3 kids and Jamie gone most of the time.
