PascosGirl replied: I think it is fine, but cookie monster is just that, a cookie monster. I think sometimes people go overboard. I hope he still eats cookies too!

redchief replied: What's this world coming to? Blasphemy! Shame on you Sesame Street!!!

MommyToAshley replied: rolling_smile.gif

I think sometimes producers tend to over-think things. Just because cookie monster eats cookies all day long, it doesn't mean we are going to let our kids do the same. : rolleyes.gif But, Ashley doesn't really watch Sesame Street... unless Barney is making a special appearance. laugh.gif

TLCDad replied: Actually he does not eat them... he just crumbles em up in his mouth and they fall and make a mess all over the floor. smile.gif

iluvmysweetiepies replied:
LOL tongue.gif You're right.

M2A- My girls never liked Sesame Stret either, when Ashlyn was little she watched Barney all the time- she LOVED it!

Boys r us replied:
Maybe that's where I'm going wrong...I don't let them fall back out!

Give me a break though..I really despise seeing ridiculous stuff like this happening!
It's called reality folks, get a grip on it..ya know?!?

ediep replied: we are watching sesame street right now!! jason watches it every day! MAybe cookie moster should start drinking milk and eating veggies so jason will catch on rolling_smile.gif Cookie moster is his fave! rolling_smile.gif

JAYMESMOM replied: I think they need to leave Cookie Monster alone and let him eat cookies anytime. LOL. They just get so fixated on one thing and go overboard. They could advocate healthy eating without messing the Cookie Monster. He is the favorite in our household. biggrin.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: they tries this once before... making him a fruit monster a few years back... it never made it though, cause viewers complained. iguess.... my thought if it ain't broke, don't fix it. smile.gif (sorry 1ht)

My2Beauties replied: I caught a brief glimpse of this on the news this morning - gimme a break people! Cookie Monster has been eating cookies since I was a little girl and he's still alive laugh.gif Let him eat his darn cookies!

jcc64 replied: I love Cookie Monster and Sesame Street- and anything they do is allright with me! I don't think it's a bad impulse to try to "teach" young kids about nutrition- given the alarming rise in childhood obesity. Our kids are bombarded with ads for crappy food and fast food brand recongition and promotional tie-ins, (my oldest ds recognized the McDonald's arch before he knew any letters, and we didn't even eat meat!), and any effort to pull them back in the right direction is a good thing, imo. Yes, I know he's just a puppet, but if it's an ok vehicle to teach about letters and cutural diversity, it's ok for nutrition as well.
And Nichole, I think I'm gonna try eating cookies that way from now on as well! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif
