A&A'smommy replied: I have NO idea who that is. It is VERY sad!!!
coasterqueen replied: I know, I heard this morning. What gets me is why are all these people (mainly celebrities) dying of accidental overdoses lately?
How do you REALLY accidentally overdose is my question? I mean, if you know you can only take so much in so many hours and you take more than that, it's not really accidental, right? I guess if you are taking drugs that interact with each other and they aren't prescribed by the same doc so each doc making the prescription doesn't know about the other drug that might interact...maybe?
PrairieMom replied: you have no idea who Cory Haim is!?!?!?! you are either really really young, or I am super old. He was in every bad movie.
stella6979 replied: My guess is it was not prescription drugs that killed him.
MommyToAshley replied: That's what I got out of the story too, that it was more recreational abuse.
It's so sad. The stars appear to have everythig everyone could ever want, but yet they all seem so unhappy and there is such a high rate of drug abuse.
PrairieMom replied: you totally can. I can't say I feel sorry for him tho. Actually, i think he is darn lucky he made it as long as he has.
mom21kid2dogs replied: The only difference is status. If you're homeless or a Joe Schmo~it's a drug overdose. If your famous~it's accidental.
coasterqueen replied: Very true .
The reports I'm reading is it was prescription drugs.
bluebear replied: it's just another suicide overdose. Same thing happened to Heath Ledger, that wasn't "an accident."
mckayleesmom replied: Didn't Corey also have heart problems? I thought he was diagnosed with something due to all his past drug use. I remember one of the episodes of The two Corey's where he said something about that.
I was looking at his IMDB page and what is really sad is that his career was starting to take off again from the looks of it...He had alot of stuff he was getting ready to start filming.
raven092177 replied: well depending on what type of medication a person is taking it can certainly be possible to accidently overdose. if a person is taking meds that are 'as needed' they could take one dose and either fall asleep, then wake up and take another dose forgetting that they'd already taken one or simply just forget that they'd already taken their first dose or forget when they took it. it's what happened to my dad.
coasterqueen replied: I can see that. That has happened to me once, actually when Megan was a baby. I was so sleep deprived I forgot I had already given her her med and gave it to her again. Thankfully it was an antibiotic and just gave her a bit of diarrhea.
I guess it just seems to happen so much in the media, that it just seems odd to me, ya know.
jcc64 replied: I have no clue who he is/was, but from what I read, he appears to have had a long history of addiction/abuse. I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever whether the drugs came from a pharmacy or a dealer--dead is dead.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I was very shocked to hear about this. It's always tragic when someone still so young dies suddenly.
As for the "accidental overdose" I can see how it can happen. I was prescribed pain medication and was taking Aleeve at the same time. What I wasn't aware of was that the prescription was an anti-inflammatory and Aleeve is also an anti-inflammatory. So I was taking to much and my stomach let me know. Once I consulted the pharmacist (which I should have done before I took the presription) I realized what I was doing.
BAC'sMom replied: So very true. It's sad
