Could I be? - Is it too soon?

luvbug00 replied: I think it is a possiblity if you all arn't using any birth control. I think there are tests that do up to a week brfore your expected period. I Hope it comes out the way you want it too!!

Has anyone had luck with a preg test showing a pos. result before you missed your period (if you were, in fact, pregnant)?

Clearblue (digital) says " 99% from the day of your expected period.

E.P.T (digital) says " first day of missed period"


Soo if you wait a coupple more days then thease may help... Oh and I got a false no until I got a blood test.

Mom2Boyz replied: When I got pg with Caden my af was really unpredictable beacause I was still bf Conner. I just happend to test one day because it had been a while since I'd had af, and we were suppose to go out for a friends birthday the next day. And I didn't want to drink if I was pg.
When I got the blood test 3 days later, it turns out I wasn't even 4 weeks along then So I found out REALLY early with him

I also wanted to mention that the first Positive I got was with a $1 Dollar Tree test. The Dollar Store also has them now, so if you don't want to spend alot of money, but really really want to test, that is the way to go

angelhair replied: it is to early to get a accurate result a week early. even thoses tests that you test early do not always pick it up when they say they are going to. when i was preg with my dd the early tests both said negative and the dollar store when i took it the day my af was due was posative so it is best to wait the week, good luck love dee

my2monkeyboys replied: Well, my DH pretty much made me test, and the result was negative. I'm still having all my symptoms, but maybe it's just going to be a rough monthly! I tried to tell him I didn't think it'd show up, but he was nervous so we did. Anyway, though it was a little disappointing, since I do want to have another one, now is not really the time for it since I don't have maternity insurance. (Somehow, though, if I was I'd be happy, even though I don't know how we'd pay for the birth of the baby. Strange huh!?!?) And so you don't think I'm a complete idiot, we do use a birth control method (so far it's worked for 7 years, fingers crossed), so I don't really expect to become pregnant anyway.
Sorry for the long post! Thanks for all the help, and if it turns out differently in a week or so I'll be letting you all know.

MyLuvBugs replied: Ha! I did EPT the Day that I was late (b/c I'm NEVER late) - Negative.
When my period didn't start 4 days later, I took another EPT - Postive with in a second.

Who knows. I think it's too early to tell for you right now. Especially with those over the counter ones. But if you can stand to wait a week, you might get an accurate reading.

my2monkeyboys replied: well know I'm a little baffled. I spotted for about an hour (literally) Thursday night. Then is stopped and hasn't come back. I tested again yesterday morning just to be safe, and it was still negative. As of today, still no af, though I'm now late 1 day. Any ideas what could cause this???

luvbug00 replied: I'd say get a blood test. All my HPT were negitive and I was pregnant. Blood tests verified that. Let us know the results!!

my2monkeyboys replied: Well, I made a little mistake. My af due date is actually the 28th, so I'm not late yet. And according to calculators I used online today, the day I spotted could have been implantation, if I am actually pregnant. (If I am, then I'd be about 3 1/2 weeks.)
I've decided to wait until the 29th and then I'll test again if I haven't started. I have a feeling though that if I'm not preggo, then I'm in for a horrible af! My breasts hurt just looking at them, and I keep having nausea, though not at any consistent intervals or anything. I just hope I can mentally make it until I find out one way or the other!

my2monkeyboys replied: It's me again... sorry! I'm 3 days late now, and still am having nausea and tender breasts. I have been peeing like crazy, and the areola (sp?) part of my breasts are really big... they look like they did when I was BF my son. I found out when I was a week and 2 days late for af with my son. I took another preg test Tuesday morning = neg. I wonder if I still could be, or if there is some other reason all of this is going on?
What would you do?

jacobsmama replied: I'm a Nurse at OBGYN IF a patient called in with your problem then I would say since you are late do a urine test and it should be positive if you are but if you aren't or it shows negative since you are late I would get a bloodtest to be sure..It is the most accurate. Let me know..

my2monkeyboys replied: ok, I think I will test again tomorrow. Do you think I should first-morning urine? If so, can I put it in a cup and then go get a test and use it (it'd take about 20 minutes to get one). If it is negative (which I really think it will be), then I'll call my doctor about a blood test. At least then I'd know for sure and we can figure out what is going on.

my2monkeyboys replied: well I tested this morning, and it was still negative. I assume I really, truly am not since it's not showing up and I'm 4 days late. I still have all the same symptoms, but maybe it's just a hormonal thing. I think I'll call my doctor this week if I don't start soon.

my2monkeyboys replied: Just to let you all know, I started spotting yesterday afternoon. Not enough to need a liner or anything, just when I wipe. I am assuming that with this and the neg hpt yesterday morning that I am just having a berserk af this month.

my2monkeyboys replied: Just a kind of update... TMI warning...

I was supposed to go to the ob/gyn last Wednesday. Well, Tuesday afternoon it seemed af had come, so I called and told the nurse it would be ok if we just rescheduled (the thought of going at that time disgusts me!). Of course, I had a very light day Tuesday, a little more Wed, then back to light Thurs and spotting a few hours Fri morning. It never got beyond a clearish red color.. not ever heavy or any clots (sorry! TMI, I know!) which is what I normally have. Now my small "lips" down-there have turned a purple color and my boobs are still full and tingly and I'm stil nauseas on and off. I even took another hpt this morning, and still negative (more $ wasted). Thankfully I go to the dr this Wed afternoon and hopefully get this all sorted out.
