Could I please get an award for...
Danalana wrote: "LEAST prepared mother-to-be ever"? That's all....I just want an award, darn it! AND I deserve this one
My3LilMonkeys replied: Well, first you'll have to make a speech explaining why you are deserving of this award..... it IS very prestigious and highly sought after, you know.
Danalana replied: Okay!
First, thank you for even considering me. I'm sure there are others who are somewhat deserving of this award. Nah, I just made that up...I deserve it more than anybody! First, we are waiting for our showers to be over before we get any of the big stuff (such as a CRIB!). AND, not only do I not have anything in my nursery, I don't even have a nursery yet! We are about to move, so we have no room for baby. The only thing I HAVE done is wash most of my baby clothes. I don't have a pediatrician picked out yet. We haven't even bought diapers. Now, if you don't find me deserving of this award, you're just crazy. I'd like to see the sorry sap you DO find deserving
My3LilMonkeys replied: All nominations are now in!
And the award goes to.....
Dana! It was a close call, but the no nursery really sold it!
Danalana replied: YAY! I knew I could win!
*taunts all the losers*
Kentuckychick replied: Nope! You're doin' okay! Heck who wouldn't wait until after the shower to buy those items (I mean why buy if you might get it as a gift???) What's most important is the baby has some clothes to wear. They give you diapers in the hospital so you won't need those until you come home (just a tip -- don't buy the newborn ones until you know how big he is!).
And as for the crib... Caydee still sleeps in a PNP at her house -- has for her entire 17 months of life. They own one crib and it's converted to a toddler bed for Connor.
I'm not really for sleeping in the PNP that long, but I'm betting Kade will be sleeping close to you for at least a few weeks before you need worry about the crib
Danalana replied: Yeah, we'll have him in a bassinet with us for at least a couple of weeks. Ummmm, but we don't have a bassinet yet, either
A&A'smommy replied: well we could make you a trophy
Danalana replied: Oh good! When can I expect to get that?
Calimama replied:
MoonMama replied:
sparkys2boys replied: OHHHH maybe the baby could sleep in the trophy
grandma replied: Dana, your right up there for the award and unless another candidate enters, you'll landslide the win! When I was pregnant with my first, we lived in a one bedroom apartment with a walkin closet, guess where the crib was? Nowadays that would be considered child abuse......
lovemy2 replied: Well you certainly won't win the award for Anal Expecting Mom so I guess this one fits you - here's too ya
lisar replied:
Danalana replied: Was it in the closet?
grandma replied: lol - yes and that was way before pac-n-plays.... Please don't report me now
Danalana replied: And I was only kidding!! But you kept the door open, right?
grandma replied: Of course! Actually we didn't live there long, we got a bigger place.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I dunno Dana I might be able to over take you.
Lets see, yes we had what we needed but only the changing table was set up when I went into labor. My bag was NOT packed and the Nursary was NOT ready. I had NOT washed any clothes, the crib was NOT put together. I had NOT cleaned the house either, I never nested. I was not due till Jan 15th but went into labor Dec 27th. So after I has her on the 28th DH and my family went home and cleaned did laundry and put her room together. I was really sad about it but thankful they helped out.
so can I get nominated?
I am sure there is more....but I cant remember.
Danalana replied: Yes, I think you are worthy of a nomination
Kirstenmumof3 replied: You're all just too funny! You know what I don't think everyone truly is prepared for the baby to come home!
Danalana replied: Oh yeah, I'm sure. But this is how the girls on my "Due in February" board are...
"Well, baby's room is all done, and the bags are packed. All I'm waiting on now is for labor to start!!"
And most of them already have tons of diapers and wipes...why am I such a procrastinator? Sure, I'm waiting on showers to see what we get first, but still.....this is pretty pathetic. And hopefully we will be moving in the next couple of weeks, so i can set up the nursery then.
