Could you imagine if this was your kid?

I think I would die of embarassment.

PrairieMom replied: nice. great parenting. dry.gif She could have at least reported it. I would have been so apologetic.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: OMG, before I died of embarrassment, I would probably tan Logan's hide. How do you not realize what your child is doing?!?

My3LilMonkeys replied:
My thoughts exactly. But I could totally see Madison doing that and I would be so embarrassed. blush.gif

luvbug00 replied: actually i kind of find it funny..although i think a report and apology is needed the kid is young and sometimes when we try our best to wach our kids somtimes we slip up. I'm gonna cut her a very small break on this one.

Mommyof3 replied: My mouth dropped open when I read this. I can't believe two things:
1. How the mother was not obviously watching her child (I never let mine two feet away from me in the post office) and
2. How she had no regard for what was not hers. I can't believe she didn't bring it to someone's attention and apologize! Good Grief!
I would have freaked out on so many levels, but there is no excuse for not apologizing.

Kentuckychick replied: I would be humiliated, but then again I'll call that a total lack on parenting skills there.

It was quite obvious from watching the video that the mother was walking several feet ahead of him and did not even realize he wasn't with her for a good minute or two (as he shuffled through the sand and destroyed the work) before returning to drag him out... dry.gif That is what annoys me. A few seconds is all it takes for a child to be kidnapped, or for something horrible to happen and 99% of the time the parents will say "I thought he was just right behind me!" Behind you isn't good enough... ever. A child that age should be beside you or in front of you, not trailing behind.

She should have reported the incident and apologized profusely. It's clear the monks were understanding, but they are still owed an apology.
She'd better never take this kid to a museum!! blink.gif

MoonMama replied:

The whole time I was thinking where the heck was the parent/s. ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Kids will be kids but yeah, I'd have really been apologizing in a big way. Maybe she didn't realize what it was??? Seriously though, I can't totally blame the mom. Kids are tricky little creatures. If you guys had seen my two sleep deprived children harassing me in the airport the other day, you would have thought I was the worst parent on the planet. They were totally out of control and it took an out and out threat to get them to behave. The other passengers were looking at me like I was such a loser. I wanted to crawl into a hole and just die.

luvbug00 replied: i think the kids just laaa dee daaaing in the art was funny. kids are like that and although some responcibilites lie with his mom. i think most will look back on the kids part and laugh.

HuskerMom replied:
That was my first thought too!

Calimama replied: The mother should have been paying more attention and then apologized. The kid was cute though. wink.gif

Miranda1127 replied:
was it only a few seconds??? seemed alot longer to me. how in the world do you let a toddler alone for so long (in a very public place for that matter). that video just made me angry, that women so should not have children. and on top of it all she just walked away... way to teach responsibility growl.gif dry.gif

Crystalina replied: Poor monks and poor mom. rolleyes.gif I'm not sure how long it took but I'm sure with it being sand on the floor like that a kid could do alot of destroying with just a few steps.

Kentuckychick replied:
Exactly... it WAS a lot longer than a few seconds. A few seconds is all it takes for something to happen... anything could have happened to that child in the (insanely long in my opinion) amount of time that she didn't notice he wasn't behind her anymore... and if, God forbid something had happened, by the time she finally turned around it would have been WAY too late.

I just thank goodness ALL that happened was what did.

ZandersMama replied: I could definitely see Zander running into something like that, the child needs to explore EVERYTHING! But, the woman should have apoligized.

kimberley replied: uh ya, i'd be mortified. i definitely think that mom needs to watch her kid better and she certainly owes an apology. rolleyes.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well it's funny cuz it wasn't MY kid that did it.... but who knows WHAT happened after they walked off camera. Maybe they talked to someone about it...maybe they apologized.... who knows.

lisar replied: It is kinda funny. (aint my kid) I am with you on that Rocky. However the Mom should have been watching her kid a little closer. Imake Lexi and Raygen hold my hand when we are in public. And if I cant be holding Lexi's hand then she has ahold of my belt loop or something on me. I dont let them walk away from me or walk in somewhere and "hope" they follow me.
