Court chooses babies name - *insert eye rolling here*

grapfruit wrote: Did anybody hear about this?? It's truely stupid.

Italian court changes 5 month old's name

stella6979 replied: While I'll never understand why some Parents choose the names they do, this is just ridiculous. I don't get how that's even legal, but apparently it is. This statement here just cracks me up, "it believed the name would hinder him from developing "serene interpersonal relationships". I mean really!!!!! dry.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hmmm...they won't allow Friday, but they'll allow Apple and Pilot Inspektor?

WTF is wrong with ppl these days

Mommy2Isabella replied: dry.gif Thats crazy!! I wish we had something like that in place here in the US. LOL where people can't name their kids names that will get them made fun of. ...

Kentuckychick replied:
Lol!
If only they lived in Italy!! emlaugh.gif
That's definitely one example of freedom in the U.S. -- the freedom to name your child any ridiculous/outrageous name you feel like.

I remember a few months ago where another country made a couple change their child "4-real's" name (give me a break!) because they said you couldn't use numbers. Apparently the couple wasn't bright enough to realize that all they need do is spell the name "forreal" and move on with their lives!

I'm seriously going to name my firstborn Tequila -- just you guys wait!

A&A'smommy replied: thats nuts why in the world, let the parents name their child whatever they want even though its an awful name!!!

tammyhopkins replied: I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. You have the right to name your child whatever you want. What next

3xsthefun replied: I think it is crazy! mad.gif

I think parents should be able to name their child whatever they want.

Calimama replied:
I would move out of the US if they did something like that. If I want to name my child GO, I should be able to.

HuskerMom replied: That's ridiculous! If they want to name they're kid that they should be able to.

Cece00 replied:
Friday was in Italy...those other names were in other countries.

Cece00 replied:
Maybe ppl should stop naming their kids outrageous things & some countries wouldnt have to have laws about it.

I mean Friday certainly isnt the worst I've heard but GEEZ...why dont some ppl use their brains when they pick out names for their kids?

Calimama replied:
My kid has a pretty unique name, and it's not for attention, KWIM? Maybe Friday has some meaning to them like Miabella had for us. wub.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied:
thumb.gif I agree, you have too wonder somtimes what people are thinking when they name there child. My parents friends thought they were having a baby boy, but surprise when the baby was born, it was a girl. They named her Shenoiah and I'm not even sure if that's how you spell.

Kentuckychick replied:
Aww... Miabella is a "unique" name... but it is a name!!! and it's beautiful! wink.gif
There are actually 3 Miabella's at our dance studio and I've met quite a few others in my lifetime.

Friday on the other hand is a day of the week...

Althougth, I don't think that's all that bad... it's the names like Pilot Inspektor (gag) and Audio Science and Jermagesty and Peaches Honeyblossom, and Spec Wildhorse...

I mean COME ON!!

grapfruit replied: My best friend and I were suppose to name our first boys Octavious. laugh.gif That (of course) isn't happening.

It was a joke from our freshman year of HS.

holley79 replied: The mother is correct, had they been rich and famous no one would say a word.

jcc64 replied: To each his own, right? Who are we to judge whether a name is "stupid"? It's their kid, if he gets picked on, it's gonna be their problem- it's really no one else's business (although in Italy, they apparently feel otherwise).
Living in a real hippie town, to me Friday is small potatoes where strange names are concerned. I've heard MUCH worse.
Just an aside, the name thing became such an issue with my friends and family when we were deciding on Alec's name, that we told everyone that we would be naming him Warren Peace (after the epic, War and Peace). They were all horrified, and secretly met behind our backs to figure out a way to dissuade us from this colossal mistake.Of course, we had no intention of naming him that, but we had everyone believing that was indeed his name for the first 3 wks of his life. It was the best revenge we had on all those who had WAY TOO MUCH TO SAY about what we should/shouldn't name our kid! rolling_smile.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif Jeanne I LOVE IT!!!!! BTW I actually like Warren peace it has meaning...

grapfruit replied:
You are so funny!!!!! tongue.gif I love it!!

BAC'sMom replied: It should be the parents choice not the governments blink.gif

Anthony275 replied: ive seen worse names...Seven

w/e, im still naming my kid Fantasy

Kentuckychick replied:
Seven tongue.gif

My brother said he's naming his son "Remington Forest III" emlaugh.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: I'm sure we have all heard much worse names.

MoonMama replied:
My oldest brothers name is Seven! sad.gif But spelled Seaven. Has a huge meaning to my parents though. And my little sister's name is Kyerin (K-year-in) Bleu (Bleu is her middle name).

Anthony275 replied: well it could be worse, i know a family with 10 or 12 boys...all named after cars

i went to school with 3 brothers named earth wind and fire......

grapfruit replied:
So what is the meaning behind the name? If you don't mind me asking. I'm always interested to know the meaning behind it.

grapfruit replied:
I think I'd run out of car names after while

Ok, there's got to be a:

Porsche
Mercedes
Lincoln maybe??
Cadillac??

Ok, I have to know their names now.

Anthony275 replied: ford
royce
lexus

i really cant remember them all

grapfruit replied: God I feel sorry for them sad.gif

I think it's one thing if there's meaning behind a name. Another when "Well they were born on Saturday so let's just call them Saturday"

MoonMama replied:
Oh nothing cool 7 has just always been a very lucky number for them, my whole family actually.
