fingers crossed. I'm really wearing out. Chronic pain is something I would not wish on my worst enemy...or thier spouse. LOL

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Man that sucks ~ but I'm glad they finally figured it out and he can do something about it now! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works and you can get your hubby back! wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I hope they got it and that it will take effect fast.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: My goodness! Gout? Poor Woody. Well I hope that they finally got it this time and he will be feeling better soon.

DansMom replied: Gout sounds so old-fashioned---something from Charles Dickens' day! I hope these meds do the trick---that would be such a relief for all of you.

coasterqueen replied: Yikes! Well I'm glad they found out what it is and the meds do the trick and fast! So when he's done taking these meds will that be the end of it or what? Kinda clueless on gout. tongue.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Yep, in the old days it was called the "rich mans disease" because it can be worsened by a diet rich in purines (red meats, organ meats, asparagus and some fish). It can also be worsened by being overweight.

Karen, it's a type of arthritus and he will have to take the meds for the rest of his life. Basically, his body doesn't have the ability to metabolize the purines in foods which cause him to create uric acid crystals that settle in the joints. These crystals look like tiny needles. Then you get the pain and inflamation.

coasterqueen replied: That's a bummer. Well I guess if the meds keep the pain away then it won't be too bad having to take it.

A&A'smommy replied: Oh that is great well not that he has gout but that they know what it is now! Did he give you a list of foods that makes gout act up? My dad has to watch eating a lot of pork and beef that makes his act up bad! Anyway I hope his meds kick in quickly!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm so glad he got a diagnosis and some treatment lined up. Now he should be on the road to a quick recovery! thumb.gif Keeping you all in my thoughts.

GavinsMommy replied: Bless his heart! I hope he gets to feeling better soon!

MommyToAshley replied: I am sorry, I didn't realize Woody was going through all this since I had been MIA off and on for so long. I am glad that they found out what is causing the pain and he can get some relief... poor guy!

kimberley replied: thumb.gif glad it is something treatable and that DH is on the road to recovery! what a relief for you! smile.gif

Josie83 replied: Fingers crossed that he starts feeling better soon Cary! Let him know that we're all thinking of him wink.gif xx

My2Beauties replied: I'm so glad they found out what it was! I missed this post sorry! My dad had gout when I was younger and it was very painful for him! Hope he gets to feeling better soon!

amynicole21 replied: Yikes! I'm so glad they found the cause though... hopefully the meds work quickly. Is it something he'll always suffer from, or will he eventually get over it?
