DH is nuts - is this just a guy thing??
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: We have that blockbuster service where you rent movies online and receive a new DVD like every few days. So my DH and I get online and select movies to be delivered each week...not together. I love drama and foreign films. DH lives for action shoot em' up type stuff. All the blockbusters that I find so predictable and stupid. So just a minute ago he comes down to the basement where I'm watching TV and has this huge grin on his face. He tells me he moved ALL my selections to the bottom of the queue and put his choices on top! And he tells me he added Terminator (1 and 3)! And Braveheart! Both movies WE OWN!!!!!!!!!!! But his stupid explanation is that we don't own them on DVD and he wants to see them on DVD!
Someone please explain to me the difference??? I'm sorry...I usually don't say this...but MENNNNNN!
MommyToAshley replied:
I think the DVD is a male thing. If we've seen a movie before but not on DVD, DH will want to watch it again on DVD. Not to mention we have to watch all the special features as well.
maestra replied: I say that all's fair in love and war. Move your movies to the top and his to the bottom. We used to have that service and dh was good about not doing that.
ediep replied: well, we don't have that service, but I have had my Dh say that we need see it in DVD even if we have it on video or we have already seen it
mommy_loves_chase replied: men will be men, i dont have a whole lot of problems with the movie part my B/F usually lets me pick so he doesn't hear me complain he has only been adamit about renting star wars[COLOR=purple]
redchief replied: Call it a male thing if you want, but I guess that would make me a minority male because, frankly, I don't get that either.
Of course, that strikes my "cheap" chord. I say I'm frugal I wouldn't buy something I already had unless I only had it in a version I couldn't watch anymore.

maestra replied: I should have added- my dh loves to see them on dvd since they have all the special features, but I have taught him to be cheap, and now he just rents them.
It took me a while to break him of that buying movies habit that his mom taught him. We only buy a movie if we absolutely love it and just want to have it forever. That's rare.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh no, we're not buying them, only renting. But it just doesn't make sense to me to even rent a movie (which yes I guess we're paying for) that we've seen a zillion times and actually own on VHS!
Anyhow, just wanted to let you all know that my DH told me after I wrote this that he was ONLY KIDDING! And that he didn't add or change the queue at all...
He knew it would make me mad and he thought that was funny I guess...
Maddie&EthansMom replied:
LOL! That sounds like something Scotty would do!
redchief replied: Hahah... now I understand him! Way to go DH!!!!
A&A'smommy replied: LOLOL MEN they LOVE to agravate us!!
ian'smommy replied: my husband is exactly the same way... only he wants to BUY them... He wants the DVD's to see all the special features... It drives me crazy...
jacobsmama replied: Mine too! I hate going to the movie store b/c we end up spending 15.00 on 3 movies he wants to see and none for me! Just wait until jacob gets older and then I won't see anything I want too! haha Men...I use to like being the only girl in the house.
3xsthefun replied: LOl! That sounds just like something Rob would do!
bwalkerletters replied: Well, I love my DVD's too Rae.... That's one of the great things about DVD's (the special features, deleted scenes, etc) I know, men are definitely in their own little world, I admit that. haha.........Anyways, I wouldn't make a big deal out of him wanting to check out the extra stuff on movies he's already seen, but he definitely should be considerate of you in letting you getting a movie or 2 out of the deal too.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: They really do think its funny to rile us up sometimes! Do they enjoy making us mad? lol! Dh says it's because I am cute when I am fiesty!
