Option B – An ad for a high quality educational toy ($20-$30) is running a promotion in one of your favorite magazines. The ad has a $5.00 off coupon. Also, you can fill out the coupon with your name and address and enter for a chance to win a trip to Universal Studios Orlando with your family.
Thanks!
Jamison'smama replied: B--I am more persuaded by coupons!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I really like the idea of option A for the chance at a savings bond, but I probably would forget about it once I closed the magazine and never go out and buy the toy. I chose B because I like the instant $5 off, but I would probably skip filling out the entry form because I know it's probably just to get my info for future mailers.
mckayleesmom replied: B.....The saving bond sounds nice, but the odds are against you. With b the coupon is a definant.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I chose A, a one in five chance of winning a savings bond if I read correctly? That is great!
I very seldom remember to use coupons even if it is in my purse, and I want to use it on things I buy the most. I always forget esp if it comes to things I seldom buy. Plus big toy buying, for me, is few and far between. We got to the dollar stores to buy small toys a couple times a week.
Jamison'smama replied: I read it as there are 5 savings bonds total--you may get one but your chances are one out of ---however many toys they have to sell---hundreds, thousands???
mckayleesmom replied: No, there are only 5 tickets total.....not 1 in 5...the odds are huge.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yeah, I read it that way too. You don't have one in five chances to win, but that there are only five golden opportunities out of thousands of toys. Maybe I'm wrong.
coasterqueen replied: Option B definitely, but I'm not sure I'd fill out the form.
3xsthefun replied: Option B
luvbug00 replied: A, for mya savings bonds baby!!!!
jcc64 replied: I can't tell you how many rebates I've lost by not filling out/sending in the little cards. If I read option A correctly, the "golden ticket" would be already in the box- making it impossible to ignore/lose/forget about. I also rarely enter any contests b/c I am acutely aware that it is simply an attempt to gain another direct marketin victim.
MommyToAshley replied: I'd be more persuaded by the coupon too. Chances of winning the savings bond is slim. And, I'd probably skip filling out the entry form as well.
Tell your DH good luck on the ad campaign.
fashionmumofboys replied: I voted B - like the coupon idea.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I voted B too... the savings bond would be awesome but it's such a small chance, and coupons always get me. With both the coupon and the chance for a vacation, I'd buy it!
holley79 replied: Defiantly B I like the idea of saving $5.00
C&K*s Mommie replied: I understand. Thank you! I still vote for A, for the reason shown below my original post. I (very) seldom remember to use coupons.
DansMom replied: I went for A---but I also buy lottery tickets. I like a big win based on pure luck. And the whole magical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory feel of a golden ticket appeals to me.
ediep replied: I guess B, because of what Rea said....I'd close the mag and forget about it. The coupon would help me to remember to buy it
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I voted B. I think with the coupon I would feel as though I 'won' something-the $5 off- even without the vacation . I probably would fill out the entry card. I like contests! Sounds like great ideas! So where can I find this educational toy???
