DH wants an iTouch - give me the scoop
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: Anyone have one?? It's the only thing he wants for his birthday, so I checked them out at Sam's yesterday and I just don't get it. He already has an Ipod, but he wants to be able to download movies. And he likes the wi-fi feature...which doesn't really make sense to me when the guy already has a laptop and a desktop at both his office and home. He's like "but I can go to a coffee shop and get on the web"...and I'm thinking "now when do you have time to surf the web at a coffee shop my dear!" Can someone tell me what's so special about it? DH loves his gadgets.... Pros and cons please. TIA
MyBabeMaddie replied: Steve has the iPhone which I think they are pretty similar - I think its such a waste of money! I would suggest getting him a PDA instead, they are way better!
Anthony275 replied: tons of money you can't really get a good case for it other than a leather one, the seethrough plastic will make marks on the touchscreen same thing as an iphone without the phone movies take up a lot of space so the more movies you have on there the less space you have for everything else its not really worth it imo
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I told him if we're going to pay the high price, we may as well get the iPhone, but he doesn't like AT&T, which I suppose is the exclusive provider. Picky, picky......
He has already had a PDA, Blackberry...whatever they are called!!
Anthony275 replied: he should get the new nano, sell the old one. the newer ones are bigger memory and have video
Calimama replied: DH says they are a waste of money.
coasterqueen replied: Is the iTouch like the older iPod? I wouldn't waste my money on it. DH has the iPhone and it's pretty cool. I got a Treo 750 a couple of months ago from work, but now I want the iPhone, which Dh said he'd get me when the newer ones come out.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: That's EXACTLY what I tried telling him last night! They are the same price and I saw that the new Nano had a lot more memory/video storage than the touch. But he likes the bigger screen on the touch.
Anthony275 replied: tell him it's going to get scratched so fast. ive had a plastic case on my ipod since day 1 and there's no scratches
luvmykids replied: Someone hacked and found a way to open them for other carriers but Apple is fighting back and reworking their software so it (supposedly) can't be done again. They must have a pretty good deal with AT&T
Anthony275 replied: t-mobile and verizon are supposed to pick them up....
Brias3 replied: I'm not familiar with the iTouch personally but we're kind of a gadget gang too and IMO, alot of them just aren't worth it. DH and I both have the iPhone for our personal cells and I think the only one who likes it is Mason (who knows how to use the camera feature on it). Not to mention, it heats up terribly and actually gets really hot to the touch. Thank goodness I have a case on it otherwise I swear I wouldn't use the thing half the time.
I have a Nano and Bruce has the regular iPod, which has the video feature, and I hear the new Nano is AWESOME!
Anthony275 replied: the new nano is TINY but its annoying with the display layouts
if i had to choose between a touch and an ipod classic id get the classic to be honest with you
