Daughter had surgery today

She is sound asleep they gave her liquid loratabs so I figured she would be sleeping. We also found out that she had a sinus infection no one knew about. So they washed out her sinus's with saline. And when I saw her, her nose was bleeding so I was asking about that. they said it was normal. So far everything is good. Her and daddy are asleep on the couch. I just wanted to let every one know.

redchief replied: Awww... Hope she feels better real soon. The bleeding sinuses are very normal after a saline irrigation. It also clears off the protective mucus covering the blood vessels causing them to bleed a little. I'm surprised they didn't warn you to expect a little bit of it.

Thanks for the info!!! At what age does the problem usually occur? My DS is only 8 months, but he often breathes pretty heavy throughout the day. And I'm always picking boogies out of his nose. No sinus infection yet, that I know of. But now I'm wondering...

Lisa, I hope you're DD is feeling much better. Surgeries are rough.

mom2lilnick replied: I hope she feels better soon. Both my boys have already had their adenoids removed twice, since they do grow back. The bleeding after sinus irrigation is totally normal too, my youngest had that done the last time as well. Tomorrow is a new day! Hugs..

lisar replied: well she is doing much better now. Not wanting to eat though cause it bothers her throut but she is okay lots of icecream she is loving it. She is getting back to normal didnt have to give her any pain med today she hasnt needed it she says nothing hurts. So that is good. Thanks everyone.
