Debt diet - 7-24
PrairieMom wrote: Well, I didn't do so well over the weekend. I ended up going shopping yesterday, but I swear it was all for stuff we needed. DH ripped the crotch out of his shorts, so I had to get him another pair, but they were 50% off, so I spent $17.00. Then Baby girl is growing out of her 0-3 stuff, and really has no 3-6 stuff, so I bought her 2 pairs of pants, 2 shirts, one jumper and a skirt all for $40.00. Kohls was having a HUGE sale and I had a really hard time reining myself in, I kept picking stuff up carrying it around then putting it back. I could have spent WAY more than I did. I also broak down and had Burger king, but The Boy wasn' with me, so it was only $3.85. I couldn't help it tho, I was starving, and it was Dast food or wait over an hour till I could make myself something at home.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Weekends are always bad money spending days for us!! I got the Cinderella DVD $20 A new book $3.25 and Alex got a Spiderman Ball to play outside $3 DH got a set of golf balls.....I dont even want to know how much those cost...probably like $17!! and we ate at Burger King too....I forget how much that was Oh and we had Dominoes Pizza delivered one night too....$20 Today I don't plan on spending any money so maybe that will make up for it!?
PrairieMom replied: I forgot, we went hiking in the national park Saturday, so that was $5. admission, but I packed a picnic lunch where we usually would have gotten Subway, so we saved $ there. Plus it was totally worth it for the family time! and Good exercise too!
coasterqueen replied: Saturday was bad because we ate lunch out, ~$15.00; had to take something back to Target and bought some cleaning supplies, after that got a credit of $5.00 back. Bought a movie at the vid store for $3.50
Sunday - had to get pool chemicals, a few foods for dinner, and Kylie some ballet tights for ~$28.00 and then Dh wanted to eat lunch out again ~$15.00
I'm saving the rest of my spending money to get Kylie a pair of shoes this week. That's all for me.
Won't be spending any money today because I'm home with Kylie who is sick.
PrairieMom replied: Poor Kylie. Feel better!
Our Lil' Family replied: I guess I was pretty good this weekend. I didn't spend a dime at all Saturday or Sunday!!! I had a meeting here Sat. morning until noon so I didn't really have time to do much. I went to a new home decor wholesale store and walked out without a thing!! I had a lot of determination, partly because everything I wanted was at least $30. And other than church that was the only place I went this weekend!
Today I have to return a movie, do a lunch mystery shop and maybe drop by the grocery store. So I'll spend $ for lunch but will be reimbursed way more than I spend so I'm actually making money!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Today, nothing.
Yesterday however... too much.
38.00 at restaurant for breakfast for me, dh and the 3 kids... ~20$ DH took Zach to go see Monster House ~95$ for Groceries ~40$ DH went to a bachelor's party Saturday 10.00$ McDonalds
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I think I did alright for the weekend. I had $40 with me and I came back with $10. So, I spent $30. I bought some craft paint and some snacks for the car and lunch on the trip. Today, I have to go pick up some things for the house and the cabin. We absolutely must have a second fan at the cabin so that will be a purchase. Then I need yogurt, toothbrushes and Aaron requested Sprite Zero. (It's on the list.)
jcc64 replied: Spent $66 on jewelry at a street fair. A big extravagence, but I have to start looking more corporate- I've moved into a space where we're seen by customers- no more dressing like a flakey designer. Ate out last night, but we used a gift certificate, so it only costs us $13. Gave ds $10 to go to the movies/out with his friends. Gave other ds $35 to spend at the canteen at sleep away camp.
Pretty costly w/e, but I kept most of it off the card, which is my goal.
luvmykids replied: Good job not using the card, Jeanne!
Cheap weekend for me, inlaws were here so all I spent was $36.00 for dinner one night and $12.00 for stuff for lunches.
Have to go grocery shopping today but I'm going to make a list/menu plan and stick to it!
TheOaf66 replied: we did not do well at all...

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I did pretty good this weekend.
Saturday: $0 Sunday: $30 at the grocery store on milk and stuff for dinner
Today is another story
Gymboree: $30 (I had GymBucks so I actually saved $25 on a $50 purchase )
I bought a book each for the kids at Borders: $8 (back to school books)
Einstein Bros Bagels: $12 No excuses.
Target: $70....($50 of that was for my mother...she is paying me back.) I had to buy toilet paper, diapers and a toothbrush.
So today's total: $70
Our Lil' Family replied: Today's total for me: $29 at the grocery store for odds and ends. $5 for lunch but I'm being paid $10.50 so I actually made $5.50 on that.
Total $23.50
