Decorating Poll - for kaitlin's room

Kaitlin'smom wrote: I am not sure what to do, all I know is I am tired of her room and want a change.

whats your opinion

oh keep in mind she is 2yrs 2 months old and sometimes has a hard time making decisions

TIA

mammag replied: I would pick a few and let her decide. That way you're not overwhelming her but she still feels like it is "her" room that she decorated.

JessC replied: I would say pick stuff out you like but also keep in mind that its her room. wink.gif I would let her pick out some things. You can always so no... if you dont think its a good idea. wink.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: It really depends on what you'd like to have for her and how long you'd like it to last. If she chooses, it will likely be a theme like Barbie, Care Bear, etc and she'll likely be tired of it in a year or so. If you choose and go for a "girl" look instead of a charachter look, it will likely last longer. BTW, loved #1 in your other pics. I think the fact that it's mostly white is a huge plus. I never have a problem getting white clean~IMO, colors are far trickier to clean. Just an FYI, though, those cute little dimension flowers will all need the petals sewed down on them. I bought Olivia a similar one (only it has about 60 flowers with 6 petals each on it) and it took me 6 hours to sew all the petals down. The reason~the comforter only looks that great on the day you wash and iron it. The minute you use it those little petals get all wild & wacky. It made me crazy so I sewed them all down. That being said, I adore the comforter and would do it all again. Here's a picture of the one we have. Have fun, whatever you choose!!

CCTandME replied: I would pick out a few that I thought fit her personality, then let her help w/ the fianl decision. smile.gif
I can't wait until we find a house so I can decorate.

Alice replied: I think you should do the picking. You're better able to see what will be appropriate next week or next year.

If it were up to my 2 year old, the entire house would be ALL BARNEY ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

ediep replied:
I agree, Jason would decorate my house with Barney and Elmo. I wouldn't let him decide just yet.

Mommy2BAK replied: I would say that you pick out a few that you like that will be practical, and then let her decide out of those! wink.gif

5littleladies replied: Well I'm inclined to say pick out a few and then let her choose, but if she is anything like Brianna, she will pick one, but if you gave her a choice a few minutes later, she would more than likely pick out something else. Just make sure that anything you pick is something you like-It will be a little while before she truly gets picky. wink.gif

loveydad replied: Pick a few and ask her to decide between them, then your'e not going crazy cause she picked sometihng you hate and there's no fit. I tried to let the kids pick something they wanted for their room and they fought me for like 5 months cause I hated it.

Kaitlin'smom replied: thanks everyone

MommyToAshley replied: I guess I am in the minority here... I think Ashley really loves her room so much because I let her pick out the theme. We didn't spend a ton of money on it, we just bought the comforter and matching curtains when they had them on sale and then we got the stick-ups (I think they are called wallies) and put them on the wall. We bought border to put up as well. Ashley got to help put the wallies up and she still talks about when she decorated her room. It really isn't my style, is a little busier than what I would like but she loves it. And, it looks like a little girl's room. If she decides she wants a different theme, then it would not be that big of a deal to change. But, if I had bought expensive items and spent a lot of time and effort painting murals and such, then I might be reluctant to change it. When she gets a little older, we might go with something more expensive that she can keep around for awhile. It works for us, but like I said, I am in the minority. wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: no problem Dee Dee Kaitlin did help pick it out I just did not take her to the stores, we wold have ben there for hours, I started with the wallies for her border she picked out two (they are in another post) and I picked up a few things that go along with them. I still have to find the rest of the stuff which I will give her choises and let her pick. Then there is some artwork we will do together. She will have a big part in her room. I hope she likes it when we are done.
