Yeah the balloons are so neat. They have a balloon glow at night too! The festivities around here during Derby are awesome!

Our Lil' Family replied: I LOVE hot air balloons. We have a championship here every year but it's smack dab in the middle of blistery hot August, we never make it there.
I knew y'all always had a lot of people over for the Derby but man y'all go all out. And I just have to ask, is that a porta potty??

Do you live close to where the balloons take off? When we lived in Oldham county you could see them flying by. And during Thunder--we would always see airplanes from the airshow and hear the fireworks.

Yep sure is. We literally have 100-150 there and a keg. Drunk men and lifting toilet seats and aiming properly do not all go in the same sentence, I refuse to let everyone use my bathroom. I'm not cleaning up pee! LOL! It costs us $80 for the entire weekend, a small price to pay than to have a line in my hallway and pee on my floor, not to mention possibly something else

We live closer to Bullitt County, but we're still in Jefferson County, Preston Hwy area if you're familiar with Louisville. Preston Hwy is a long road I know but the end close to Bullit County. I don't remember them going over our house the year before like that but then again we may not have been home. We always go down to a friend of our's house for Thunder, he literally lives like a minute from downtown Louisville and we can see everything from his yard, even the bridges. It's nice and we are far enough away that we don't have to fight the traffic. We used to live one street over from him before we moved so for 3 years that we were there we could walk outside and see it all.

Cool. I'm pretty familiar with Preston Hwy. Tom and I go out that way a lot for car shows/"meets". Not exactly sure what you call them-- but a bunch of us sitting in a parking lot talking about cars. Not my thing, but he's a big mustang guy. We now live in Henry county, so it's quite a drive.
