Dexatrim Natural?
~CrazieMama~ wrote: Have any of you used it? Or know of someone who did? Did it work? I bought a pack of them and was curious.
jen replied: My friend has started taking that to help her with her cravings. It is supposed to be stimulant free, like no ephedrine????? i think! so that is good! I know people who have gotten heart murmurs and anxiety problems from taking ephedrine based diet pills so it is probably better for you to take something without it! Good Luck!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Yeah, this is ephedrine free. I hope it works....cause I am really discouraged right now. Thanks for replying too.
jen replied: Just take it one day at a time! You just have to think of a diet at a whole lifestyle change instead of a quick fix, it took me years and years to realize that! It helped me to write down everything I ate and then at the end of the day I would evaluate it. I was able to find out what foods make me feel better and made me feel full longer. Foods with empty calories won't stick with you as long! Sorry I am rambling, i am just kind of a nutrition freak! ha!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Hey, I don't mind. I need to change my eating style anyways.... I used to be very careful about what I ate and what exercise I got. Then I got pregnant with Brianna. Now I just have to get back into the swing of things again. Any help would be appreciated.
coasterqueen replied: I haven't heard anything about the Dexatrim Natural, as far as how well it works. I just saw an ad for the first time last weekend for it, so I wonder if it's really new.
Can try it and see what happens I agree that it's all about a life-style change. DH and I went on the WW plan last February and by August I lost 40 pounds, he lost 40 pounds just much quicker than I did, lol. It was a complete life-style change. We didn't necessarily stop eating all the things we liked to eat that weren't good for you, just less portions of them. It made a world of difference. Course when Dh stopped the diet in August so did I. I stopped when I still had 5 pounds I wanted to lose and ended up gaining 5, so I have 10 to lose. It's so hard to get back into that new life-style
You can do it, just take it slow
~CrazieMama~ replied: I have heard about it, but wasn't sure. So I bought a pack.
jen replied: You can do it!! just one day of healthy eating at a time!! Writing it down sounds so lame but it works!!! Also if you cut out most of the sugar in your diet like white bread and any kind of high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils your battle is half way over and that is easy to give up really! I can't have very much sugar because I am hypoglycemic but I don't drink enough water so I mix about 3/4 water with 1/4 juice and I end up drinking what I need in water each day and getting some Vitamin C! You are on the right track! I remember when I had to stop drinking Dr. Pepper! I think I lost 10 lbs that month! I would never have considered that a problem to begin with! it was a DRINK for cryin' out LOUD!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Well, I don't drink soda. I have about 2 cups of coffee a day and a glass of iced tea. I drink diet sparkling flavored water all day. I have about 1-2 liters a day. There are no calories or fat in it. I am just not active enough really. So I was thinking about playing some racketball today...but seems like no ne wants to play with me. Oh and I do 30 sit-ups a night too. Seems like I should be losing weight, but it is not working....(sigh)
jen replied: it will happen, sometimes it takes time I think for your body to adjust to a different way! I mean I always gave up after a couple of weeks(sometimes just a day or two) and then when I had to medically cut the sugar permanently and eat healthier I was shocked that in 4 weeks I had dropped off 10 lbs! I think I always caved too soon! I have never been a serious dieter. I have always been thin but there was always a lurking 5 or 10 lbs in there somewhere I was trying to shed! ha ha!
~CrazieMama~ replied: I hear ya there. I now have at least 19.5 lbs to shed off. Although I don't really look like im almost 170 lbs...But I feel it in my clothes. I hate feeling fat in my clothes.
jen replied: I know what you mean! Some of my maternity clothes have turned into Fat Clothes and Skinny clothes! How I ever managed to even catergorize those! I have NO CLUE! I have gained 34 lbs with 9 weeks to go! ha ha!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Thats not too bad, that is about half of what I gained when I was preggo with my son. Boy was I hungry!!!
chloe&tysmommy replied: I never heard of that before but I just wanted to wish you luck Give it time and I'm sure you will lose the weight you want....
jen replied: Yea I think I am going to go through a REAL BIG GAINING now that I am feeling like a bottomless PIT! I just cannot get full!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Yeah, I am gonna start it today....but you have to take it with food, and I only eat dinner and snack after that...So hopefully I can get away with taking them once a day instead of 3 times a day.
booey2 replied: Hi, you might think about trying to eat at least 3 meals a day, that might help in your weight loss. Also, those fizzy drinks, do they have Aspertame in them?? I was just wondering, because I noticed that when I have a lot of it I get, besides the headaches, a lot of water retention. Hang in there and as the others have said it really and truly is a life style change.
A&A'smommy replied: i havent heard anything about it, but i would also like to try something else but im scared too!!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Yeah, there is aspertame in it...is that bad? well, i took one pill earlier and im eating dinner now and about to take another.
booey2 replied: Well aspertame is not that great for your body and it gives me headaches and makes me retain water and hinders my weight loss so I try to stay away from it. But it affects everyone differently.
~CrazieMama~ replied: hmmmmm, I will ease up on it then...that could be my problem right there. I will have to drink more water then...lol
CantWait replied: I haven't tried the dexatrim natural, but I have tried the regular dexatrim a few years ago and didn't find that they helped with my cravings at all. I think it was just more of a physcological thing. I think the whole thing with them is that your suppose to drink 2 glasses of water with it, then eat something like half an hour later....so I think it's just the water that discourages you from wanting to eat so much cause you're already full. I also think they were pretty useless cause if you're eating the wrong food, then nothing will become of it...just my two cents but Good Luck anyway
jem0622 replied: Use Splenda instead of Equal or Sweet N Low. Also, for some...sweeteners can be a hinderance b/c the body may see it as sugar anyway and it works against you.
If you would like then I could post the sample WW plan to give you ideas and that would be a start. I use it daily to help me pick what I'm going to eat.
Do make sure that you drink enough water daily, and eat at least 3 meals a day. Also, try not to consume a lot of carbs at night. Save it for breakfast and lunch b/c our bodies don't do a good job of digesting/processing carbs later in the day.
Another option is to eat an apple 30 minutes before every meal. It helps fill your stomach, and it helps you get your fruit/veggie servings for the day. That way you eat less of what is on your plate.

jen replied: I agree about the Splenda, I can't have sugar (or at least much sugar) because of hypoglycemia which might as well be diabetes as far as my diet goes. Splenda is made from sugar but your body doesn't recognize it as sugar..........that is why people with diabetes can have it. If you could switch to Splenda instead of any artificial sweetners or sugar for that matter that might help too!
