Dh is really upset
mckayleesmom wrote: One of his best friends was killed in Falluja (SP?) the other day. The humvee he was in drove over a land mine. Dh hadn't seen him in 2 years because when they went to the sandbox he went to recruiting. Dh was in his wedding. He knew he had a little boy when he left, but wasn't sure of any other kids. Then yesterday another close freind sent him the obituary and he did have another child..a 6 month old girl he never got to meet. He was scheduled home May 1st. Dh is really upset. He keeps talking about losing faith in what they are doing over there. That he is afraid that while they are over in the sandbox, the terrorist are planning their strike here...yadda yadda yadda. Leithan doesn't usually talk like this. He was even questioning why he was feeling this way cause he knows he does'nt usually feel this way. I told him that this news is what made it hit him. I explained to him that war doesn't totally hit you unless you are there...or someone you know is killed. Everybody can be gung ho military, but if something happens to someone you know,,then your always going to question it. I don't know. I really hope he gets out next year.

I am very concerned considering the recent uprising in Fajullah. The violence there is extreme.

CantWait replied: I'm so sorry for your dh's loss. We've been through this a couple times and it doesn't get easier no matter where it is. This war is really getting rediculous in my opinion. My heart goes out to your dh
Lily replied: I'm really sorry for your dh and for the soldier's family. My dh got out almost 3 years ago but everytime something comes on the tv about the 101st Airborne he still gets all nervous 'cause he knows that his buddies are out there. It's so hard all the way around.
