Dh's fathers day gift.

He picked her up from daycare today and when I opened her bag, there was a wooden frame with colored glitter smeared all over it (quite atrocious really LOL) and a card which K colored and put stickers all over.

DH almost cried. It was so sweet. He knelt down next to her and asked her all about her art and the card and she told him all about it with the cheesiest, proudest grin on her face. It was so sweet...now I'm crying. Stupid pregnancy hormones.

Since money is tight, I've planned a pizza day for DH. I will make a breakfast pizza (toast with eggs, cheese and ham on top), we will go to lunch at a local pizza joint, that serves slices as big as your head, with some of his friends and then I'll let him pick what he wants for dinner. I won't be at all suprised if it's pizza. LOL

I really wanted a homemade gift from Arik for Mother's Day or my birthday, but didn't get any. I don't think my BF has those "talents" anyway. Now I have to wait a whole nother year.

jem0622 replied: Homemade gifts are the best. And as far as eating on Father's Day goes...many men (in a poll) have said that they just want to relax and not get stuck in all the chaos and restaurants and such.

I picked up an ice cream maker for DH. So we are making ice cream on Father's Day. I got a gift certificate to a restaurant for my bday and told DH that maybe we could get carry out if they'd honor the gift certificate. So we'll see. We didn't go to a restaurant for Mother's Day. Just got together at my MIL's house. My parents met up with us there.

My FIL and my Dad will be out of town, so we can just focus on DH...which will be nice.

ITA about going out on holidays. However, this is a total dive pizza joint and I'm hoping that they won't be too crowded. I couldn't get any of his slacker friends to commit so I moved the pizza lunch to pizza dinner and my mom, stepdad, grandma and grandpa will meet us there. We usually do Sunday dinners at my mom's house with the whole family but it's a ton of work. My mom is totally up for going out.
