Di, Kaitlin's mom - the drink pictures as promised
cameragirl21 wrote: Here are the pics you requested of the drink I made to show to Kaitlin. It really is yummy. The drink
 The view from the top
Now don't you just want to take a sip...?
CantWait replied: Just like the photographer, even a picture of a drink had to be just perfect lol.
That does look yummy though.
lisar replied: I thought the same thing!!!!
PrairieMom replied: thats what I was going to say too. Its a drink. Set the think on the counter, point and click . good grief.
Danalana replied: Looks good!
PrairieMom replied: how thick is it? I can't drink thick stuff. I would probably have to thin it down a bit. I am still craving beets, I actually bought a can of beets at the store today, and I will be eating them for dinner.
And right away, I thought of this clip...

cameragirl21 replied: I had to get some good lighting and I couldn't get it on the counter so I took it outside. No picture can be taken lightly, lol. Besides, what's wrong with a poolside shot? It's not very thick at all. The top is frothy but if you stir it that will go away. It's filling, though, I usually have one for breakfast and don't want anything else after that till lunch.
CantWait replied: LOL you said it so much better than me!!!
PrairieMom replied: nothings wrong with a pool side shot, its just that its way better than any picture I have personally taken, and its a glass of juice.
cameragirl21 replied: so what are you, jealous? you wanna make something of it? let's take it outside, better have your mother hold your sweater while we go at it....
PrairieMom replied: yes. Jealous. totally. Plus, around here, my momma has to hold my parka and snow pants.
okay, so can i make it with canned beats , baby carrots and ground ginger?
cameragirl21 replied: canned beets are cooked so you do lose a lot of the nutritious content but they are probably going to be juicier. Idk, I've never tried that, I've only used raw. As for the baby carrots, yes, you can do that but they are more expensive and already peeled and I prefer cheaper and the skin as it has the nutrients. Ground ginger would work but there's no juice I don't think, it's already been juiced but try it, just add a little bit otherwise you won't be able to drink it, it will be too strong and your kids will spit it right out if you overdo it with the ginger. As for the photography, you know, there is a new trend among photogs...they charge regular folk, usually moms for classes on how to take better pics as amateurs so that they get the basics of good results in photography without all the complications of buying expensive equipment and years of learning complicated techniques. Maybe one of these days I'll give that a whirl...those pics were 1, 2, 3 and done...all I had to do is take the drink outside in one hand, my camera in the other while praying that in my usual klutzy ways I wouldn't trip and spill my juice onto my camera. And then I had to find some good lighting under full sun and clickety click.
moped replied: Is that picture taken out by your pool?
Looks yummy to me BTW
cameragirl21 replied: yes, why does everyone have a problem with that?
Kaitlin'smom replied: well I love that you took it pool side, it so makes me want to be at that pool sipping on that drink it looks really good, altho I would not want to know what was in it before I tried it, you know the mental thing.
I probably woudl have taken it for better light also, well that and I dont want my horrible pealing kitchen walpaper showing
PrairieMom replied:
cause if I had a pool it would be under a 3 foot snow drift.
cameragirl21 replied: well, just fyi, it's 65 degrees here and my pool heater runs on gas which would cost me upwards of $150 monthly to heat it so that pool is not heated and that means I ain't swimming in it these days either. So yes, it may be warmer here these days than where you all are but that pool's only job these days is to serve as a back drop for pics and to keep the pool company guy paid and working.
moped replied: Is it your own personal pool or a pool for a condo complex type hting?
cameragirl21 replied: mine, I don't live in a condo, although lately I'm eager to move to one those luxury highrises they have all over Miami but until then, this pool's all mine. That pool may look big in pictures but in reality it is way too small for a condo complex, it's only about 20 by 10 or so.
PrairieMom replied: My sister ( in Vegas) has one about that size, and she loves it.
One thing I noticed when going on my honeymoon in FL was how many people have pools. Practically every home it seemed had an in ground pool. It was nuts! Up here hardly anyone does. We had an above ground one growing up, but I didn't know a single other family that did. In our entire city (approx 150, 000 give or take) I bet there aren't 1000 homes with pools, actually I bet there aren't even 500 with pools. when you have winter 9 months out of the year it is just kind of pointless.
moped replied: WOW that is cool. You are very fancy!
cameragirl21 replied: lol, just about any house in Miami has a pool, it's like a standard feature, just about. It's not really a big deal but it can be a pita if a hurricane is coming...if you don't have it filled up to the top the hurricane can rip the whole pool right out of the ground. I'm not really a sun worshipper so I usually go in it at night or late in the afternoon, usually naked. So if I did move to a luxury high rise and had to share the pool, I'd have to give up the naked, most likely, and that would be a bit of a sacrifice, believe it or not. And the reason I say most likely, in case anyone is wondering, is because I could still see myself going in naked in the middle of the night, taking a chance but most likely succeeding in my quest to swim naked. It's such a Jenniferism.
cameragirl21 replied: hehe, I was just posting to Jen that nearly every house in Miami has a pool. It really hit me when I was going in an airplane one day and I looked down during takeoff, which I don't usually do as I'm afraid of heights and I saw pools as far as the eye could see. Welcome to sunny South FL, baby.
moped replied: Got a problem with bathing suits????
