redchief replied: Sorry, everyone. It's been a long day. The CT scan showed a mass of infection in the lower right abdominal quadrant. She was sent to the ER right from the imaging office. She was in surgery within one hour of that. Her appendix had burst in two places and was leaking into her abdominal cavity, probably since she started feeling pain on Sunday afternoon. Because of the massive area of infection, micro-surgery wasn't an option, but the surgeon feels confident he removed or sufficiently diluted all of the ichor creating the inflammation without the need for a drain. She is on heavy IV antibiotics and pain meds, and is tired, but hopefully she'll be feeling better tomorrow. She'll be inpatient for at least a few days, and we'll see how things go after the doctor sees her tomorrow. I'll tell her you were all thinking about her.
Mommy2BAK replied: Oh no! Tell her I am so sorry to hear that she had to go through sooo much! I hope she's feeling better VERY SOON!
