Did you buy anything for Christmas that ...

I thought Ashely would really love her Leap Frog shopping cart, but she doesn't care for it. Sometimes she will pull the food out and say "yum" but she doesn't really push it around. I did have a hard time convincing her that the bananas weren't real the first day.. LOL
Now, on the flip side, she LOVES her Mega Blocks and all the Little People stuff. She has the Little People Noah's Ark, Zoo, and Bus. And, she will play for hours with them. It is funny, she calls all the people by either "man" or "girl" but she calls Noah by his name. And, she knows what all the animals are too, but she can't say all their names yet. It is funny to hear her try to say "giraffe"
DansMom replied: Daniel loves his little people zoo too!
DH got him a remote-controlled dump truck and thought it would be a huge hit. He saved it for later in the day, and had it all set up to drive into the living room and surprise Daniel. He's too young to understand it. He wanted to chew on the remote control antenna when DH tried to show him how it works. He doesn't know what is making the truck move by itself and doesn't seem to care. He does like to manipulate the truck with his hands, but it's not more special to him than his other two dump trucks. I could tell that DH was disappointed!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Yup we thought Claudia would love to have the Disney Princess foam chair, but she would rather sit on my lap than that chair! Claudia also loves her Fisher Price Little People, I've been meaning to pull out my DS's from the basement. For Christmas Claudia got the Fisher Price Zoo and some Little People in the Basement we have the Farm and Main Street with all the parts, and people. Maybe I'll just take them out gradually, I don't want to overwhelm her!
Maybe when Ashley gets a little older she will love the shopping cart. My DD was about 2 1/2 when she was right into the dolls and strollers.
coasterqueen replied: Just about EVERYTHING she got for Christmas, lol. She would just rather play with those stack cups and that fisher price ring thingy that you put the circle like donuts on.
She is a very strange kid! I could have saved a ton between her birthday and Christmas if I would have just dealt with the fact that she likes those two toys.
Now we did get her puzzles for Christmas and she LOVES spreading the pieces throughout the house, but doesn't like the *actual* use of them.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: In the past it has been that way, but this year she pretty much liked everything we got her. I think Ashley will like the shopping cart in a few months. Maddie loves stuff like that.
MommyToAshley replied: I think "2 Years" was the age suggestion on the shopping cart, but I thought that was because it does other things... scans, talks about counting, type of groceries, food groups, etc. I was going to get Ashley one of those plain shopping carts since she always wants to push the cart at the grocery store, but I figured that this was more of an investment and would last longer. I guess I will put it up until she's a little older.
mummy2girls replied: Actually she liked everything she got...but she hasnt quite gotten the liking to the leapfrog table her daddy got her. She absolutely loves the mega blocks my boss got her though!!!!!!
CantWait replied: Yup, I thought Anthony would love his excersaucer cause he could stand in it and play with all the toys around it, but he'd rather stand on me
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Nope I think we did pretty good this year. We got Jade the Little People Zoo train and she just loves playing with the animals. She likes her mega bloks too. I think the shoppingcart was a good idea. Ashley will probably like it better when she gets to be a little older.
MomToMany replied: We did pretty good this year, too. The kids play with everything they got. She will probably play with the other stuff when she gets older- and you won't have to buy it, since you already got it. Maybe try rotating her toys; put some away and give her some new ones, then switch back & forth. Just an idea .
aspenblue1 replied: She liked most of her toys but the only thing she really loves are her care bears.
ediep replied: Jason loves his puzzles a little too much......I had to put them away because he was eating the pieces.
I didn't get him any of the little people stuff, but it seems like the other kids love it, maybe I get some when our playroom is finished!!
DansMom replied: I want to get some of those mega blocks---it sounds like the kids like those a lot. But I'll wait until we get sick of the current sea of toys he got between Birthday and Christmas!
coasterqueen replied: Hehehe. Kylie liked hers for about a week, then she got bored of them She just is stuck on those stack cups and that ring thing. Glad I didn't go out and buy the whole lot of Care Bears
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison doesn't play with much of anything and she got TONS of stuff. She will read for a while, play with her Wiggles guitar for a minute, sit at her table and play for a couple of minutes but her attention span is SHORT so if anyone has suggestions on working to lengthen her attention span that would be great. I cannot get anything completed around the house because she cannot entertain herself well.
Maybe I just haven't found the right thing (any excuse to buy more stuff)
Guest replied: I wish I knew but Kylie is the same way! :-(
