Did you ever run away - as a kid???

mckayleesmom wrote: I never ran away as a teenager....but as a kid I ran away on a daily basis....I would pack my Snoopy suitcase with my prized possessions (my barbie dolls and all their accessories) and sit at the corner...waiting for a new family to pick me up and take me home with them.... rolling_smile.gif My mom's friend lived on the corner house and she would call my mom to tell her where I was.....My mom never came to get me...she just let me sit there laugh.gif , When I would get hungry I would go home...LOL. I had siblings...so running away always seemed really nice rolling_smile.gif .

DillsMommy replied: I don't ever remember running away, I was always too scared to.

CantWait replied: I won't go into details, but I did run away for 2 weeks when I was 16.

Crystalina replied: My sister, me and my best friend ran away when I was 15. Our friends were having a party at the lake and my mom said we couldn't go. I called my boyfriend and told him to meet us on the corner and the 3 of us actually tied bed sheets together and shimmied down the side of the house. The daring part is that we picked the window right above our bay window to climb out of. dry.gif Luckily mom had the curtains closed. We made it! Then we got there and realized we got the days wrong and the party wasn't even going on. rolling_smile.gif My boyfriend had to drive his little brother somewhere and didn't know the party wasn't going on and left us. Who do you think we had to call for a ride! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Yup, mom. She didn't even know we were gone but boy was she mad. growl.gif That was the only time she ever hit me. She beat my butt good. wub.gif So I only ran away for a few hours. rolling_smile.gif

BAC'sMom replied: Nope never had a reason to. biggrin.gif

amynicole21 replied: Yes, a few times. But never overnight. I was too chicken rolleyes.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yes.

I was 5, and my mom pretended to punch my jaw to knock my loose tooth out... except she actually did hit me (by accident) and I got insulted. So I walked out the front door and walked down the street. My mom came after me once she'd stopped laughing... and dragged me home against my will. Traumatic. laugh.gif

Boys r us replied: I always threatened to. I would tell my mom that I was running away and she would say," Okay..I understand that you're a big girl and need to runaway, but at least wait a few minutes and let me pack you some sandwiches and a thermos of lemonade b/c you're going to get hungry out there in the woods by yourself!"

I probably heard this samething out of her mouth 10x a week and it worked like a charm every single time! rolling_smile.gif I never ran away....ahhh moms are so slick with their reverse psychology!!

mom2my2cuties replied: YES!

I was in about 3rd or 4th grade and lived in McKinney - My sister, a friend and I were going to stowaway aboard a plane leaving from the McKinney Airport. And walk the 10 miles from our house to the airport smile.gif

luvbug00 replied: Yeah I did so many times, almost always over night and cops called several times.

gr33n3y3z replied: nope bc where would I go LOL
The woods are nasty at night

PrairieMom replied: All the time, but I never got very far. ( i wasn't allowed to cross the street) rolling_smile.gif Mom would actually pack our bag for us.

mom2my2cuties replied: oh my Tara - Talk about help out the door! I think I might try that when my kids tell me that I am mean and things aren't very fair at our house.

PrairieMom replied:
laugh.gif My Mom would also threaten to call CPS on us kids! laugh.gif laugh.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: I can see how that would happen smile.gif Andy LOVES to be really rough with Andrew and he always says he is going to calm parent abuse.

BAC'sMom replied:
rolling_smile.gif I lived in the sticks too.
