Did you see Trading Spaces $100,000

So, doug actually did a good job? sorry to affend any 'doug' fans here but he's usually got some crazy ideas

Shooter replied: I don't like Doug because he intentionally is a butt and does things that people DON'T want him to do. Plus, he likes contemporary stuff alot and I'm not a contemporary furnishing/decor person. I was not overly impressed with either creation, but the kitchen was pretty nice....just not my style.

I would much rather have seen Frank and Vern do this episode.

Roxi1 replied: I thought that Doug's kitchen looked really nice. I think that a kitchen looks good when it's sharp and clean looking. The rest of his design was a little too boring for $50,000!! I liked Laurie's end result, though. The room had nice color, and it wasn't too crowded, yet you could tell she used some bucks to fill it up!

Jamison'smama replied: I agree with about everything said by Roxi1, Laurie's room ended up really pretty--Doug did okay considering..other than Hildi, they picked the 2 people with the most personality to do the rooms though. Laurie just has that expensive taste in "fabric" and Doug is so over-the-top that it made for a pretty good show. Vern would have just done a more expensive version of what he has always done (tasteful decorating) so Doug is the more fun wildcard --even though I don't usually like anything he does.

Fun show though!

chloe&tysmommy replied: ITA I liked Lauries room it was really classy and I guess Dougs room was ok-except for that blue lamp that cost something like $1800 (I can't really remember the price and yet I just watched it LOL but it was a lot) weird anyways could you imagine what Hildi would have done to those rooms OMG

I like Vern's style, he's my favorite!!

jcc64 replied: I guess I'm the only one who thinks Laurie's room was not successful. Way too much stuff. Cluttered looking. And let's not forget Doug had a much bigger job to do, he had 3 rooms on the same budget. The thing with Doug is that he has a very urban sensibility, and they send him to very middle America kind of places. Makes for good TV. My favorite shows involve Hildy b/c she is soooo out there. I wouldn't let her within miles of my house, but I love to watch her on TV.

Shooter replied: Nope, jcc64, I agree with you. Nice room for a magazine cover, but didn't strike me in the "livability" (is that a word? ) factor.

I am not a big Lori fan either, but hers was pretty good, somethings I did not care for, like the chair for $2900! on one stupid chair come on.....but some of the other way over priced funiture was ok. over all not bad for her.

I agree... I didn't care for Lori's room either. And, usually I love her stuff.

I liked Doug's Kitchen... and the other room too. (And, I am not a Doug fan) However, I would love to have seen what Vern would have done with $50,000. I love Vern's rooms. I want him to decorate my house!
