Did your families like the names - you chose for your kids??
mckayleesmom wrote: They liked Mckaylee......well....I think they liked it anyways...they didn't say otherwise.
Russell.....Im the one that wasn't keen on it for a while.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Everyone liked Tanner...so they say, because it sounds masculine and it was a name that nobody had heard much of. So, I guess, yes they did.
booey2 replied: Well my mom really wanted a Nicholas, thus we didn't name either of them that but I think they all like our names because we are Catholic and those are strong Biblical names and pretty Catholic.
Terri
My3LilMonkeys replied: They liked Brooke.
Most of them were very 'eh' about Madison - it was okay, at least they didn't hate it - except my dad. He still tells me if I wanted to name my child after a president I should have picked Lincoln.
mom2my2cuties replied: The families didn't get much of a choice.
Michael Allen - well the Allen part got some debate from my ex's dad. Because he was arguing about how his mom spelled it. *rolls my eyes* Like his mom didn't know what she named him right? (His name was the middle names of our parents Michael was my dads middle name and Allen was ex's dad's middle name)
Andrea Michelle - Dad's name is Andrew Michael - Do I need more explination???
luvbug00 replied: Yeah everyone liked her name and so did we. I'm not sure what i want to name my next one someday.
ediep replied: most people ask me why I chose Jason and Emma, and the tructh is just becasue I liked them....most of my family won't argue with that
Boys r us replied: Yeah my family liked both of the boys names!
As for Alexandra, we just got home from eating dinner with my parents and my dad just told me how much he loved that name! So guess it's a good thing we didn't change it to Fiona!! LOL
But...THEY weren't overly fond of the first name we had picked for her, bella Soleil. Neither were Rick's family.
Calimama replied: Yeah once they learned to say and spell it right. It's Miabella.. not MiRabella. Most people just call her Bella. Our next child is going to be Pierce Nicholas if it's a boy. So we'll have Miabella Elisabeth and Pierce Nicholas.
msoulz replied: Never asked - don't know or care. But realistically, we did not choose any unusual names, nor did we name after anyone so there's not much to dislike.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yes, they love our kids names.
luvmykids replied: They loved Colt, especially when we decided to use a family name with a long history for his middle name. Kylie wasn't as common back then so they liked it too. I wanted to name her Lily after my grandma but it caused too much drama (I still wish I'd done it anyway). Macie they were iffy on because it either reminded them of Macy Gray or the store.
Nina J replied: Our familie's like both names
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I know my family really likes both of them, Dh's family has never commented, but they don't really care about that stuff. We picked pretty classic names though.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I think so. I have never heard otherwise.
Marlette (Kellie's middle name) is a special name anyhow for those that know the story behind it. So I doubt there would be grumbling about that particular name.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Everyone in the family loves Wil...my grandfather was William and DH's grandfather was as well. Plus Wil is really Richard William. DH is Richard. Did that make sense? My parents love Wesley, but I don't think my ILs love it. My FIL asked me where I got the name...I said I just liked it. He suggested Arthur because he likes more traditional, royal names. I told him my first BF's name was Art and said I disliked the name. That ended the conversation...hasn't brought it up since!
A&A'smommy replied: lol I remember that Brianne
I think everyone loved alyssa I know my mom did.. the funny thing is I picked it out when I was like 3months pregnant actually before I got married anyway I was told it would change a hundred times haha nope she was destined to be Alyssa Faith
Cece00 replied: Yup. I've never heard anyone say anything but good things about my kids names. Well, my FIL did try to tell my DH not to name our son John, Jr, because he is Edward III and was trying to tell him how confusing it is, but DH didnt listen. But they love the nn "Jack", which is what we call him.
Heather77 replied: They do now. When we were pregnant and told what names we had picked, most weren't too fond of Jake. Almost everyone liked Shane. All my friends liked Brynne, but our families didn't care for it b/c apparently it was too "different" (none of them had heard that name before! ). My dad really didn't care for her middle name .... he said it's a hippy name .
redplaydoh replied: My mom wasn't too fond of Lucas because it reminded her of one of her high school teachers named Mr. Lucas. He was frumpy, wore his pants way too short and pulled up way too high over his large stomach and always looked kind of ratty. After a short time she really came to love the name Lucas and doesn't associate it with her teacher any longer. My sister didn't like Bryan because she's had a few students with that name and they were the ones that gave her problems in class. But honestly I didn't care as long as WE liked the names.
J-rod replied: as far as i know they all love Kyan.....but honestly i dont care cause he's our son and its our name we gave him.
actually one person didnt like it....but i told them that and now they seem to like it.
hawkshoe replied: Yes they liked both name we picked. They weren't as fond of the girl name we chose for our youngest, but he is a boy so it doesn't matter.
3_call_me_mama replied: they loved each name we chose. Although they wanted (my mom and dad) us to name Cameorn NOAH. Bu tit wasn't even a contender! LOL Cameron has my dad's name for a middle name and kathleen was named after Dennis' grandmother and my great aunt (her middle name Elaine is my great aunt's first name) and with Grahma they just loved the name and his middle name is FIL's first name.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I have a Tanner too.. and I loved the name.. but I am not sure about the masculine part.. there are 2 girl Tanner's at my Tanner's school..lol
Whats yours middle name.. I have Tanner Layne
skinkybaby replied: They all love Grace's name. But if this baby is a boy my husband is thinking about having his middle name be Oliver after his grandfather and my mom keep saying how she hates it. But I told her I didn't really care if she liked it or not.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well Brittany Michelle..was right before Brittany became SO popular in the mid 90's..but was chic enough to be cool..so everyone dug it.
Justin Bailey Chance.. well he was going to be Justin Avery..and no one loved it. So, then I thougth well I Have two middle names and this is what I want.. and they liked it. Thought it was too long but they were okay.
Tanner Layne..was going to be Elijah James.. but no one liked it.. they made fun of it especially my FIL.. I decided to change it last minute to Tanner Layne
Boo&BugsMom replied: REALLY?!?! Wait until I tell hubby that! He has something against gender neutral names and swears he will never use one...ha ha ha! I've never met a girl Tanner before, that's too crazy. I guess everything is kind of gender neutral now a days. My Tanner's middle name is James (both Troy and his dad have that middle name and all with the initials TJ).
holley79 replied: I remember you telling us that story.
My family wasn't real keen on Annika at first. I guess because it was so different and everyone said they were going to call her by her middle name, Lily. Well lo and behold they call her Annika or as my grandpa calls her AL.
