mummy2girls wrote: I want to try to lose some more wieght but i hears stories of how each of the above is awesome... which do you find if you have worked best for ya? and did the weight stay off

momof2girls replied: I am currently doing ww and if you stick to it you will lose weight and they tell you its not a diet, its a life style change.

kimberley replied: i did a low carb/ high protein diet a couple of years ago with a daily exercise routine (Tae Bo for an hour) and lost all my excess weight plus got toned in about 2 months. i think it would have stayed off if i didn't get pg again. good luck.

Littlejojames replied: I did the atkins a while back and lost a stone in 4 weeks but i would not do it now as there are reports out about it effecting the chanced of getting pregnant and so on.

If you find a good way let me know! smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: I tried the WW diet and was successful wink.gif.

ediep replied: I just do low fat diet and it seems to work if I don't cheat too often blush.gif . My Dh does south beach which is a form of low carb diet. He lost about 30 pounds. So, that diet does definately work!

kit_kats_mom replied: I've done WW for the last two years and lost all of the weight I wanted to. I maintained until I got pregnant. I also never exercised. I like it because you can still eat what you like. My mom lost 45 lbs with WW 5 years ago and has kept it off.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I have done the WW diet as well. It does work for me when I actually do it. blush.gif Like someone said above WW is more a lifestyle change then a diet. My OBGYN told me back in May when I had my annual that it is the best one out there.

MommyToAshley replied: I didn't vote because I am just trying to eat healthy and excercise. My downfall is pop.... I eat healthy besides that. If I gave that up, I bet I would lose the extra 20 lbs that I need to get back to my normal weight.

I think that the low/no carb diets can't possibly be healthy for you... you are cutting out an enitre food group. And, Dr. Atkins even had heart disease (which the family claims had nothing to do with the diet) I know a lot of people disagree with me on this one though and swear by the low carb diets.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
honstly you would drop in in a few short months thats how I lost 25lbs before I got PG, and how DH has lost 20 in 3-4 months.....he now drinks diet with me, and he swore he would never drink it, I told him you just have to find one you like and once used to it others will follow.

some of them that dont tast like diet are

dr pepper
mt dew
sunkist
aw root beer (one of my favorits)

or if you just cant stomach it then see how many regular ones you drink in a day and start cutting back one at a time....

alice&arik replied: I've done a few of them. I did the Mayo Clinic diet. I think I lost 15 pounds in the month I did it. It is just so hard to do, there isn't many things to eat on it. I have also done a low-carb diet and could never stick to it. I did a Slim Fast shake & White Rice diet that I heard a girl did to slim down quick, and I lost 8 pounds. All together with the diets I did last year, I would say I lost 40 pounds. (Since giving birth.) But I have gained back 10, I have been eating a lot of ice cream lately. But I am really bad with eating, somedays I eat good, others I don't eat at all, then I will binge all day the next. I am a little obssesed with my weight. blush.gif But at least I can admit it now. I REALLY wanna try Dr. Phil's weight loss solution, well mainly I want to get his cook book, it sounds like good food and it would be easy to just cook healthier, but I am not one to cook, I need the recipes and then it even takes some thinking on how to do it. rolling_smile.gif

jem0622 replied: I voted WW, but my version was a low carb/higher protein. I think there are a lot of misconceptions out there about low carb and if folks would just look at the whole picture they would be successful. I took in 65 g of carbs at a minimum and lost 30 lbs. All without barely exercising. That was telling me that I was making bad choices and that white flour and white sugar are just no good for me (and a lot of people). Also...portion control. Measuring everything. That helped me. And drinking my water. I can't say enough about drinking the proper amount of water daily. DH and me did choose fruits and veggies that were not as high carb, but sometimes we didn't and still had great success. DH and me lost a combined 80 lbs together. He did mostly Atkins and dropped his cholesterol significantly...so no meds for him! I'm sold!

We did not eat potatoes at all. Low carb pasta (measured) only. Low carb/high fiber breads only. We did not go nuts with fatty meats. We chose lean meats and low fat cheeses.

Good luck!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: laugh.gif Yeah I always end up on one of those SEE FOOD diets! I SEE FOOD and I eat it! laugh.gif I can't seem to stick to a diet and I've read up on the Atkins diet, it's just too much work for me! My DH did WW 12 years ago and lost over 100lbs. Not exactly sure, but once he got a full time job the weight slowly came back on and he is way over what he was when he started the diet. He blames it on my cooking! dry.gif My doctor told me just to eat foods from all the food groups and avoid desserts. Someone also told me not to add sugar to my tea or drink pop and you could loose weight just by doing that. Sorry I'm not much help!
