Do they have big & tall for babies??
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: Wil is not big, but he is lean and veryyyyyyyyyyy long! MIL was in town this past weekend and since Wil's bday is coming up, we went to Old Navy and MIL pretty much bought out the baby boy section! She bought several pairs of pants, like ten or more shirts, a jacket, eight pairs of socks and a hoodie! He looks so cute in them....BUT I'm thinking about returning all the pants because they are way too big in the waist. I have to get him 18-24 months for the length, but he's still like a 6-12 months in the hips and waist. So all the pants fall off. My little guy has NOOOOOOOOOOO butt! He is ALL legs. Anyone else have this problem?? Sweats are the best thing for him because they are drawstring waist, but they are always too short. They ride up like capris! I'm not sure what to do.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I have this exact problem with BOTH of my kids. It drives me nuts. They make all the pants WAY too big in the waist. Now they have the adjustable waist in Maddie's size (in most clothes), but they don't in Ethan's size. Luckily I sew and I think this winter when I buy his jeans I will put a little bit of elastic in the back to adjust it myself. I hate to do that when you pay so much for clothes, but I dont' know what else to do. He had some jeans last year that were 3-6 months. He wore them up until he was 10 mos old or older. They were a little short, but fit in the waist.
Also, he lived in sweatpants. The Children's Place has some really cute jogging pant type things right now. But, I do love jeans!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Thanks Aimee! I may try sewing in elastic because I know if I return the pants and get a smaller size, they'll be too short. I don't sew though ...but I'll try.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I have that problem with Mackenzie. She has LONG legs, but a small waist. Hey here's and idea lets start are own clothing line. Amy can so and me and you can design!! LOL
kit_kats_mom replied: baby gap makes adjustible waist pants. I got some for K & they worked great! http://www.gap.com/asp/Product.asp?wdid=516104&wpid=205118
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD idea! I have my BA in Art! I bet we can agree on a name too.........
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I think I'm going to have this problem with Andrew too. He is already way too long for all his 0-3 month footie sleepers - his toes get all scrunched up in them. So he is in 3-6 month ones now but they don't look like they will fit for long. But he is super skinny and doesn't really show many signs of chunking out any time soon.
Jamison'smama replied: Carters makes adjustable waist jeans and some Gymboree pants/skirts are now adjustable. We also have this problem.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: HMMMM wonder what they name could be?? LOL
julesmom replied: I had this problem with my oldest and now I have it with dd. Actually, my oldest still has this problem...at 7!
Old Navy is the worst for lean kids. Carters has the elastic adjuster in the waist, so does theGap. Even The Children's Place is pretty good.
For my son, I have better luck getting him pants out of Kmart!
luvbug00 replied: Mya too. Um let me reccomend Gap but if your pinching pennies (like me!!)most H&M jeans and pants are LOOONG. very helpful?
MommyToAshley replied: I have been able to find some Osh Kosh stuff that comes in tall. (Like 4T tall) I have never seen it in the stores, but I have online. It fits Ashley so much better than a 5T.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I wish I knew this before MIL bought Wil a ton of clothes at ON yesterday. The styles are just so darn cute though! I guess I can return them.
Thanks for the tips everyone!
