Do you cleanup for the sitter?
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: We're having a sitter tonight and the house isn't dirty, but sorta messy. And I'm not feeling upto cleaning! There are dishes in the sink and toys scattered all around the basement. And I'm sure a good vacuum cleaning would be good since we have a dog, but the vacuum isn't working right now...and to be pefectly honest, I don't care!
Should I pickup or let it go? I'm tired... I just want to go on our date and forget about the rest!!!
C&K*s Mommie replied: If we had a sitter coming to our house~ I would clean up. But if you are not up to it, leave it! It is almost the weekend, and you can take your time then.
Relax, get ready to enjoy your date night. Have fun!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: well if the vacumme worked I woudl say just run that but since its not then nope sunds like a home and to be honest when houses 'sparkle' I know they did it cause company was comming. I do clean when people come over yes but I am not into the perfect home, not gonna happen, well unless I could afford a live in housekeeper.
dont worry, just go out and enjoy
My3LilMonkeys replied: I say go and enjoy if you don't feel like it - but maybe let the babysitter know she's not expected to do it, KWIM? When I babysat I would always clean up after myself and the kids and if there was already a mess there I would feel obligated to clean that up too.
Insanemomof3 replied: For me it depends...Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It really depends on a few things...who is coming over, if I am in the mood, or time. If I run out of time, I don't worry about it.
If you are not up to it, I wouldn't worry about it. Just rest and relax for your night of fun.
CosmetologyMommy replied: I have never had a sitter come to my house but I would probably leave it. When I used to babysit a extremely clean house made me nervous, like I should not even use a cup!
luvmykids replied: Just go have fun!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Well I straightened up, did the dishes and "swifter'd" the kitchen floor! I was going to leave it, but couldn't. I have never noticed this sitter to cleanup, nor would I expect her too, but I just feel more comfortable that the house is presentable I guess! I'm already showered and ready to go, so I figured why not...and I'm sorta a neat freak!
kimberley replied: i don't deep clean but do tidy if someone is coming over to babysit. people snoop
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yeah, they do snoop don't they?? And this sitter works with DH!
CantWait replied: I always clean up. I don't want the sitter to feel obligated to pick up after me later.
MamaJAM replied: Considering that our sitters are either my parents or ILs....I really don't bother cleaning up too much. I do try and make sure you can see the livingroom floor before we leave...though we almost never can see it when we get back. I never worry about dishes in the sink....if they're there - no big deal.
